Tears of God

Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter and blah, blah, blah (you all know this stuff already!).

Summary: When it rains, they say God's crying… Watch as a forbidden love that was never really given a chance to bloom, withers and dies one stormy night (takes place 4 months after sixth book ends). Slash: HP/DM

A young, raven-haired man slowly made his way to Godric's Hollow, the heavy rain plastering his hair to forehead and making him shiver. It had been only days since his last visit, but he felt drawn to go there one last time before setting off with his two friends. Lightening flashed, temporarily illuminating the path and silhouetting a figure that was looming ahead. The man faltered slightly before letting out a low laugh.

"How'd you know I'd be here?" he asked when he was a few feet away. Lightening flashed again and the brunette was able to catch a glimpse of the familiar platinum-blond hair and gray eyes of the other person.

"I've been following you for the past three days… I knew you wouldn't leave without coming here one last time," the blond-haired man replied, gesturing towards the destroyed house behind them. "Lumos," he whispered, causing the tip of his wand to glow, illuminating the area around them.

The brunette smiled. "You've been following me?"

"Yeah… The Dark Lord's orders…"

"Of course."

The blond nervously ran his fingers through his rain-soaked hair. Sighing, he looked the brunette in the eyes and raised his wand, aiming at the brunette's heart. Thunder boomed in the distance as a flash of lightening threw them into another silhouette.

The brunette gave him a sad smile. "Are you going to kill me?" he asked. The blond merely nodded. "You don't have to do this… you're not a murderer."

"How do you know what I am or aren't?" the blond asked harshly.

"You would've spared Dumbledore. You might be a prick, but you would never take a life."

"Shows how little you know about me. I've killed before; I won't hesitate to do so again."

The brunette took a few steps toward the blond, pausing when the tip of the other man's wand was lightly pressed against his chest. "Are you really going to try and kill me?"

The other man bit his lower lip and looked into the brunette's eyes. "I don't have any other choice…" he whispered, defeat heavy in his voice. "Expelliarmus!"

The brunette was sent flying through the air before crashing into what was left of a wall. Staggering, he stood up and pulled out his own wand. He dodged to the right, barely escaping the jet of green light that hit where he was standing moments before. He aimed at the blond. "Avada Kedavra!" he shouted, sending his own jet of green light out and hitting the blond.

Lightening flashed once again as the dark-haired man stood and slowly made his way over to the blond. He sank to his knees and sat next to the other man's now-lifeless body, tears flowing down from his emerald green eyes and mixing with the rain. "I'm so sorry," he sobbed, reaching out and brushing a lock of hair from the young man's forehead. "I'm so sorry Draco…"

A/N: So there it is, another one of my many "stories put on hold" has been finished. In case you couldn't tell, the raven-haired/brunette/dark-haired man was Harry (no pun intended) and the blond was Draco. I'm so glad I finished this story, I started it as soon as I had finished the sixth book (which was two, three days after it came out), but never finished it. Anyways, hope you all liked it!
