"I Have Faith In You. Both of You."
A/N : This poem is from Elizabeth's point of view. It takes place when Will is meeting her in the jail before searching for Jack. Elizabeth knows that she doesn't truly love Will; she was only going to marry him to hide that her true feelings belong to Jack. Knowing that Will is risking his life to save hers, Elizabeth decides that she had better pretend to be in love with him.
As I cling to the cell
And his lips nearly touch mine
I feel his heart beat fast
His and mine, in sync, in time
Does he know, that at night
It is not him that I dream of?
But a certain drunken pirate
Is who I may be in love
Will says that he'll find Jack's compass
In order to set me free
So how can I possibly tell him
That our future is not meant to be?
A lady must marry a gentleman
I know what I must do
There fore I nearly kiss him and whisper
"I have faith in you."
A liar I must not be
So I must say something true
Before he leaves, I force myself
To murmur, "Both of you."
A/N : Okay... I know that it's short, but I hope that Elizabeth's feelings could be seen. My other poem, Once Was Quite Enough, displays Jack's feelings as Elizabeth leaves him for the final time. So please, read, enjoy, and respond!
