Just some Kurloz/Meulin one-sided drabble. Enjoy.
True I'd give my right arm, to keep you safe from harm, and true, for you I'd move to Ecuador.
Kurloz sat under a tree, watching Meulin, Mituna, Meelah, and Kankri playing out whatever roleplay game they had made up now. It had been almost two sweeps since Kurloz had deafened Muelin, and he still had not forgiven himself for it. They were no longer matesprites, Kurloz could not bare to see what he had done to her and had even sewed his own mouth shut, but he still cared very deeply about her.
And I'd keep a little farm, chop wood to keep you warm, But I don't really love you anymore.
Kurloz did not feel red for her anymore, he was certain. Feeling were still there, but they had ebbed into something different. He still felt immensly guilty every time he saw her miming something to Kankri, or using sign language to communicate with Mituna. He even still got jealous when she seemed to flirt with any of her friends, but he was not in love with her.
I don't have to love you now if I don't wish to, I won't see you anyhow if that's an issue, because I am a gentle man, think of me as just your fan; who remembers every dress you ever wore.
He had tried his best not to be around her anymore, certain his character was not good for her in any setting, but he was annoyed she seemed to not hold anything against him. She had even objected to him breaking things off, but had understood. He was also annoyed at himself, for still keeping tabs on her. Like, now, what was he even doing here, watching her?
Just a bad comedian; your new boyfriend's better than- cause i don't really love you anymore.
He also had a lurking suspicion that Meulin was slowly getting closer to either his own Moirail, Mituna, or the sweater kid Kankri. True, she spent a lot of time with both of them and Meenah before the incident, but he wasn't so sure.
There'll be someday when your eyes do not enthrall me, or when I'll realize you'll never call me.
He also still found her incredibly beautiful- maybe that's why he was here. To watch her long black hair bounce around in the sun as she hurdled over a crouching Mituna onto a very surprised Kankri, who in turn fell over and crashed into Meenah. But he refused to let himself think that way- she was not that to him anymore.
Cause I've read your horoscope- and I've given up all hope. So I don't really love you anymore.
Kurloz was by now convinced they could never be more than pale friends- maybe she could still be his puppet for his somehwat nefarious schemes, but he wasn't here to think about that. Kurloz stood up and took one last look at the four trolls LARPing, and left before they could see him. He was certain he caught a glimpse of her turning her head, maybe seeing a flicker of black and white as he left, but he prayed she would not follow him.
