"Mummy!" a tiny voice called through the house as little feet ran towards the kitchen.
Hermione left her tea at the table to meet her little girl, hearing the panic in her voice and wondering what would set just a headstrong five-year-old off.
When the little girl entered the kitchen, Hermione bent down low to embrace her tightly, noting the tear-streaks on her cheeks and the quick rise and fall of her chest.
"What's wrong dear?" she asked, already inspecting the little girl for bruises or cuts.
"Mummy!" her daughter cried, sticking her finger directly in her face.
Hermione's eyes narrowed to view it up close and then chuckled at the faint red line on the little girl's finger.
She rose from the ground and led the girl to the medicine cabinet. "Rosie, paper cuts are just another joy of reading. You'll be fine."
