Yugi woke up to find the room empty. Looking around he couldn't find a note like his lovers would have left. He got up and went to find them.
"Yami? Atem?" He called. There was no answer. "Yami? Atem?" He called again. Again there was no answer.
He went to the hallway and found the front door open. He ran back to his room and grabbed his jacket. Pulling it on as he moved he ran outside. He found Yami leaning against the railing on the porch.
"Yami?" Yugi asked as he moved closer. He gently shook his lover. "Yami wake up." He pleaded.
Yami's head drooped to the side. That's when Yugi noticed the blood pooling around Yami. "Yami!" He cried.
Yami didn't stir. Yugi looked him over tring to find what had caused his former yami to end up like this. That's when he found the bullet hole through Yami's chest.
"Yami..." Yugi sobed. "Atem?! Atem where are you?!" Yugi called paniked. He could lose both of them. He needed them.
There was a groan from around the corner of the wrap around porch.
"Atem!" Yugi yelled running over.
Atem was leaning against the house.
"Atem!" Yugi cried out rushing to his lover's side.
"Y-yugi..." Atem whispered.
"I'm here Atem. I'm here." Yugi whispered brushing the other's hair away from his tanned face.
"Y-yugi... I'm sorry. I couldn't save him. I tried to but I was too late." Atem whispered.
"I know you did Love. I wouldn't have held it against you." Yugi replied.
"Bring him over here please? I want to see him one last time."
Yugi nodded. He rushed over to Yami's body. Gripping the older under his arms he started dragging him over to Atem. Grunting, he was able to heaved the older boy over to Atem's lap. Atem cradled the pale boy's head in his lap.
"I'm sorry Yami. I tried. I tried to save you. I kept Yugi safe. They left before they could find him." Atem told the body.
"Please don't leave me Atem. I can't lose you, too." Yugi said quiety.
"I can't promise that Little One." Atem said softly.
"Who did this to you two?" Yugi asked.
"Dartz and his men." Atem said. "They asked for you. When we wouldn't get you they shot Yami. I still wouldn't let them near you. I fought them all at once. But I wasn't able to fight with out getting hurt. They won't bother you now Yugi." HE closed his eyes.
"Don't leave me." Yugi said again.
Atem opened his eyes and looked over Yugi's shoulder. "Hello Mahad." He said.
"NO! No please don't take him! Mahad please don't!" Yugi cried clutching Atem.
"I'm sorry Young Master. But I have no choice. It's time." Mahad answered laying a hand on Yugi's shoulder.
Yugi cried into Atem's shoulder.
"Yami..." Atem breathed.
Yugi lokked around. Standing just behind Mahad was Yami, wearing his old leather jacket.
"Yami please don't take him. I need him." Yugi begged.
"I'm sorry Aibou. It's his time." Yami ansered.
Yami touched Yugi'd lips with his own in a short kiss. "I love you." He whispered.
"I love you, too." Yugi whispered back.
"Are you ready Atem?" Yami and Mahad asked the fomer Pharaoh.
"Yugi kiss me once more." Atem said looking into Yugi's amsest eyes.
Yug kissed him as Atem smiled. When he pulled away he watched as Atem's spirit stood, leaving his body behind. Atem and Yami linked fingers and stood facing Yugi.
"Don't please!" Yugi cried out.
"We have to Koi." They said together. "We love you."
"Wait for me?" Yugi begged.
"We will wait for you in the Feilds Yugi. Uphold our title Koi. Always believe we will be in the Heart of the Cards and we will always be with you." They smirked.
"I will. I promise." Yugi said crying. "I love you."
"We love you, too. Don't ever forget that." They said. They laid their hands on Yugi's shoulders before they faded away.
"ATEM! YAMI!" Yugi yelled, not wanting to let them go. He fell asleep crying on Yami and Atem's bodies.
