Title: the Love of His Life
Pairing: Felicity Centric - Oliver/Laurel (off screen) - Oliver/Felicity friendship
Spoilers/Warnings: Up to 1x14 but goes kind of AU
Author Note: Just something that came to mind. After re watching the ep, when Oliver stills has the photograph. Also Laurel and Tommy are broken up in this. I also don't own Arrow.
Summary: Felicity finds an old photograph of Laurel in the "Arrow Cave" and makes a few realizations.
She honestly found the picture completely by accident.
It wasn't like she was trying to pry into Oliver's or Diggle's things. She just happen to be looking for something, and in the top drawer of the desk was a picture of Laurel Lance.
She had seen the woman a couple of times but has never really been formally introduced to her. Although, he has heard a little bit of her past with Oliver.
From conversations between Oliver and Diggle. Although she never actively participated in the conversation or bothered to ask questions about it.
However, the things she has been able to picked up was that Laurel Lance was the love of his life, but he had screwed up that relationship five years ago.
He knows it.
Laurel knows it.
Tommy knows it.
Anybody who actually knew what was going on in the past or have at least heard about it, knows it, which is probably the reason why Oliver hasn't necessary fought for her.
Because at the root of it.
He still feels guilty, and unworthy of her.
So he decided to back off, and pretend he is happy for them. Putting on fake smiles, while offering advice to Tommy and/or Laurel. Even though, deep down he is hurting inside.
Even though, he still keeps on the playboy persona and dates rarely. His last romance ended badly. His (ex) girlfriend, turn out to be psychotic, and was obsessed with revenge. (Not to mention deep down, she probably knew that Oliver was still in love with Laurel Lance.)
She was honestly a little surprise, when she heard Oliver and Diggle talked about Laurel and Tommy's break up a few weeks after Cryus Vanch kidnapped her.
She supposes that Tommy couldn't compete with the Hood & Laurel relationship and the lies/half truths that surround them.
Even though, as far as she knows the Hood and Laurel was strictly professional. Almost business partner like. Although she supposes it is possible that Laurel may have fallen in love/form a crush on the Hood.
The mystery, and the fact that the Hood would probably do anything for her. Even kill for her, if her life was in danger.
She tucks the photograph away, in the spot where she found it.
But she decided to make it her personal mission, to try and set up Oliver Queen with the love of his life. It may take a few weeks, or even months to do so, but in the end. She knows it would be worth it.
-the End.
