The Life Truly Worth Living
I felt the warm liquid of blood fall down the side of my face, and I groaned opening my eyes but only barely, as I was blinded by a very bright light. I blinked and moved to see...
"So you're a master?" She questioned. I couldn't escape the feeling of anger I felt and snarled. She only grinned."Let us begin..."
She... rushed me with a dark grin and a laugh that I'll hate forever... as long as I exist...
The basis of living is experiencing the social events around you that result in mistakes and or achievements. But how you deal with such events... is supplemented by the free will we as humans...
"Alexander Grand." The name was called on from a feminine volume.
"If you may young man, please continue with the reading." A young woman with dandelion blond hair tied in a ponytail spoke up audibly. Her shoulders were stiff as a plank, her arms crossed over her red vest that covered her stomach and shoulders only. White cuffed sleeves at least six inches from her wrists held tight to her baby thin tree branch arms. In her left hand a hardcover book half-closed with her short index finger in-between the pages of the book. The blue pools of ocean colored eyes were in a standard frown with brown freckles expanding over the bridge of her nose and cheeks. She was a sight to behold. A pristine flower that reflects the sunlight onto the darkened shadows of others.
"Mr. Grand." She repeated this time leaning forward. Her back slouched and her neck tilted forward to the right. She wasn't given a reply from the name she called out. Another moment of silicon filled silence ruled out.
"Mgh..." A mutter, "Snuggg..."Gurgling nuzzles sounded out and the woman's face lowered.
"Sleeping on the first day…" She sighed and snapped her book shut.
Looking back behind herself the woman's eyes narrowed into a thin glass shattering glare, her blue orbs glanced at a blackboard. Upwards above the board a clock rested ticking away. The long hand was seconds away from the ten, the short only inches away from the twelve. It was almost time for her class to end. She would let it slid for today. The rest of her students had either fallen asleep alongside the boy she called out, while some barely remained awake.
"History again repeats its self." The woman whispered out then closed her book, "You all may leave." The groans of the sleepy children made their way to her ears. She huffed out and moved to a brown desk that supported a black leather chair. Upon sitting down she directed her blue eyes to her right as students muttered to each other; some letting out giggles even. Fingers pointed back to the class and a few more giggles before they left.
A second later and in front of her desk was the boy she called out, a black hoodie covered his head showing off a single golden eye. "He looks tired...", she noted mentally as she saw the dark bags on his brown eyelids. "Ah... what's this? The paper I handed out at the beginning of class?" In her face, the hand of the boy held multiple papers. She quirked a brow then reached out taking the boys paper.
He nodded. His back hunched over. His eyes on the female teacher watching silently her as she looked over his papers. Beneath his hoodie, his ears twitched. The boys head snapped to the right of the room eying the door. A tapping noise. He heard it. His eyes caught sight of a girl and boy silently waving at him. A hidden smile was given and with a casual wave of his index finger towards them the two nodded with smiles.
Glancing back to his teacher she had flipped what seemed to be the third page. Her blue eyes scanned the current page like a fly darting in and out all along a large room annoying the inhabitants within it. "Did she not hear that...?"
"So you have a brain." The voice of his teacher rang in his ears causing him to focus on her eyes. Shoving the papers he had handed to his teacher before was now in his face with a large red 'A'. "I'm surprised only you turned in the worksheet I had assigned to the whole of my class. And only you completed it." She turned in her chair in looking up at the clock. "Get going, Mr. Grand... I can see that your friends are waiting for you."
"Ah..." Taking the papers slowly the boy nodded. "Thank you, Ms. Franceska, I'll be leaving now." He nodded once and turned away moving back to his desk gathering his belongings.
Ms. Franceska herself hummed aloud in her seat. She glanced at the door seeing the two kids outside lowly conversing with one another waiting for their friend. Smirking she spotted her student with his back turned to her looking in his bag organizing his belongings.
From each bit of movement and bending of his arms, and legs he was stiff. He moved carefully and it was obvious to her that he was nervous to be in class making his only friends wait. She scooted up in her seat and took the ink pen in her right hand twirling it with a mastery at an abnormally fast pace. She made a face that gave off a hidden air of annoyance, then shook her head landing the pen with the head downwards ant inches away from her desk.
"Have a good day Mr. Grand." She said out loud looking at the boy with dull eyes.
With his bag on his back, he turned to her and nodded. Awkwardly waving to her quickly he made his leave. Hearing the door shut the teacher looked down at her desk and smirked. "Smart kid." She said and relaxed in her chair.
I came face to face two grinning faces upon my leave form my class. I felt a hand grasp my left shoulder and an elbow land on my right. It was a fast action and it took a moment for me to register the weightlessness I felt and the large arms hugging me... choking me to be astute.
"Comrade!" My ears rang from the shout. my blood began to pump as oxygen began to fade away. I felt dizzy and I believed my eyes were rolling up into my head. It was a second that took more so a minute for me to register that I was on my back.
My chest heaved back and forth and my lips were cracked open only a little to get air into my lungs little by little. I felt around a bit then I was brought to my feet. It was sudden... but my eyes fell on the behemoth of a student... as well as my friend.
"Ngh... ugh... Oh man..." Was what I got out as my chest heaved up and down rapidly. I could only think of breathing.
"Comrade!" I kneeled over holding my chest with my right hand trying to get some air in my lungs. The big guy... was Marcus... Marcus Light to be exact. He was tall and nicely built. All muscle and a lot of meat on his bones. He's a freshman like me with a big heart he constantly shows. He loves hockey and to smile as well as give hugs. The best way to describe him was what he loved and what he liked to do.
I often got hugged by the big guy and I often ended up on the ground gasping for air while- "Alex! You alright!? You, oaf, could you of at least waited a bit to give him a hug!?"-Sistine could chew him out.
My eyes were open half-lidded and all I did at this moment was offer a half nervous smile. I had been rather used to seeing this constantly happen and in many ways... the affection outweighed the pain and near-death experience.
"O-Oh... I didn't mean to harm Comrade! Truly I didn't!" Marcus began to wave his large heavy meaty arms around as he broke into a cold sweat while he laughed nervously. Well... at least I was right...
"Hey... Sistine can you cool it...?" I asked first and she snapped back towards me with a questioning look obviously wanting to continue the scolding. "Marcus said he was sorry... so let him off okay?" I asked trying to defuse the small situation and it seemed to work as her brown eyebrows slowly fell into a thoughtful expression.
Sistine Blue was her full name and she to was a freshman alongside Marcus and I. A head full of short brown hair with chestnut eyes that was in a constant stoic look that gave off a strict and serious feature on her face. She was a head shorter than me with an orange-ish sweater with her hoodie resting on her shoulders. She was small in frame and resembled a middle-schooler with her skinny looking arms.
With a sigh from her and a grateful expression on Marcus doughboy face, the two finally settled down.
"!" With a sudden jerk of his shoulders, the big male grinned heavily. "Comrade! Are you going home early perhaps!?" His loud voice echoed through the halls and I winced a bit at his assumption.
Rubbing my ears and so did Sistine herself, I shook my head no. "Um... no Marcus... in a few minutes my next class will be starting and I'd have to get there in a bit. Why the question?"
"I want-!"
"He wants to know if you're available to go to his game Alex..." Sistine cut in her voice was semi-flat and she elbowed Marcus's gut causing him to double over. It still amazed me till this day that such a short girl could still smack around our giant of a friend...
"Why is Comrade Blue so mean...?" He wined and I could only let a nervous chuckle in response.
It had been five or six so minutes after I said my "laters" to Marcus and Sistine as we agreed on a time and discussed many things in the short amount of time we had. I personally left to get to class earlier since this was the start of the semester. With such a start to this new experience as a whole, I planned ahead to make sure I'd be on time and get everything regarding school work completed and done in record time. It was a... system "someone" wanted me to start up as soon as I took my first step into the halls. I took that to heart with a grain of salt but I still thought on what could be certain problems in solely focusing on whatever system I could think up.
Even with the questions, I deluged in my psyche that such things didn't need to be seriously thought over for such a long time.
So as I quietly walk down the hall with a large number of adolescents chatting rather loudly or-horse-playing in some cases-I had my head down avoiding all others. I maneuvered rather easily through the halls with little problem and at a fast pace. I numbed all other things out of my mind as I slowly looked up yet I believed that I was looking into space.
Tick
My ears twitched. I had heard something and I felt my body move to the right all on its own and my left arm shot forward and weight setting in on my arm.
"Ah..." I heard and looked down. I first saw silver hair in a curly fashion at a medium length and from the amount of silver I swore this person dyed their hair. Upon looking closer this person was a female with oddly pale skin with a surgical mask over her lower face hiding her mouth. As for the shirt she wore... well it was a black tank top hidden underneath a white zip-up jacket that held odd proportions as the "arms" of the jacket were longer than her actual arms with the actual body seemingly clung tightly to her stomach with its zipper not fully "zipped up" effectively exposing her small shoulders and her... rather large breasts. Looking down and away from her chest area and on to her lower body, she had blue skinny jeans that were obviously "Modified" as parts of her jeans were cut with the hem having several folds that exposed her knee-high black socks. In a strange way... she had fit what she wore...
And now I'm wondering why and how did we get in this position. I was spaced out only for a moment yet I think it was a lot longer than say... several seconds? She seemed to moan for a bit and I'm pretty sure my face was red as it caught me off guard. Such sounds like that should be kept in the baby making room!
It was a second later that I had noticed that various books were on the ground and it was only me, here at the center of it all, as the other students rightfully moved around the books, the fallen one, and myself. So I put some strength into my left arm seeing as the weight started to strain it, and I positioned her back up into a standing position rather then her being kept up from my arm.
"Ah... what...?" Her head moved up and her eyes opened to revile dazzling ocean blue eyes with a sparkle yet equally tired gaze. I couldn't look away... they were so beautiful... almost like a princess. "Um... I-I'm... s-sorry..." She muttered and stuttered out beneath her surgical mask with a small light tone.
I nodded slowly. I probably looked out of it... I knew that... but I was so stunned and amazed by how cute she was. At that moment I choked down that feeling I held in order to speak. "No... um... do you want me to help you with your-" I wasn't allowed to finish as the bell rang.
She looked at me and tears began to flow. "I-I'm... s-so s-sorry!"
I honestly didn't see this coming...
As time flew by like that of an airport waiting area, there was a small conversation between the two of us. It was such a small minimal one that actually spiraled out into a tree of words expression and even small pockets of emotion. I wasn't one to talk often to the ones who I held no knowledge of beforehand but the conversation was easy enough to branch from names to likes and dislikes, and a myriad of other small conversation starters.
I was engrossed in her mannerisms and the way she spoke. It was a unique way I've never experienced before and if I was being honest I was rather fond of.
But now as we walk the halls together I was originally reminded why I had left Marcus and Sistine. "Oh. I'm very sorry but I need to go."
So snapped to look at me. I felt a little started at how fast her neck whipped to just look at me. The look given was enough to force me to break into a cold sweat. "Is... everything alright?"
Seeing her lips move yet not hearing much coming from her mouth she bowed her head.
She looked up and smiled. With a wave, she muttered a thank you and waved. I couldn't help a hiccup after she left... it was a nervous one.
I rubbed the back of my head and chuckled to myself. I was alone... within the halls. Oh right... class.
"Hey Brendon..." The voice belonged to a young man in his late teens. His hair was cut short and clean while he wore a thin silver chain which was hooked over his neck. A white leather jacket over a black shirt without crease visible, rested comfortably on his arms and torse. A hat of the same color of the white jacket rested in a tilt covering his right. He was leaning agents a wall next to him another male of caucasian decent quirked a golden blond eyebrow at his name being called.
"What's up D?" He questioned his friend in a calm tone. His body was built like a tank as he dwarfed his African American male friend by a large margin. He was the idea of a masculine popular highschool teen. Captain of the football team... rich father... the like.
With a lazy point of his finger D used that very same finger to cress of his chin a devious look formed on his face."Yo, take a look over there. New kid getting it on with ya girls younger sister. He might... how do I say it? Score the goal post?" He flinched at getting hit in his shoulder. and let out a fullhearted giggle. "Eh eh... can't take a fucking joke now huh!?"
"Pshh. Pussy..." The blonde male rolled his blue eyes and snarled.
"Punk bitch." D insulted back with a grin, which caused his friend to grab him in a headlock.
"You got something to say!?" My what a shout...
"Come on man let ya buddy go!"
As the two friends got physical with one another the halls were beginning to get cleared rapidly. Two other individuals walked passed rolling their own eyes.
"Koryu Walker right?" A male with apple red hair nodded silently to a girl with black hair. He was of average with soulless golden eyes. His face was emotionless down to the core of pure ice. He was a skinny male wearing a blue long sleeve shirt, with bland blue baggy jeans. He looked at her with a nod.
"Let's walk and talk. Is that a problem?" He shook his head no and she smiled. That smile brought out her black short hair on her freckled face. The blue eyes glowed like and sparkled like the ocean and stars. She wore a yellow uniform over a white button-up covering most of her short skirt.
The two passed by the sight of a black and white-haired youths conversing.
It was as if time slowed as Koryu Walker eyed the blacked haired male smiling nervously the young girl. He eyed him... and saw...
"You gotta be kidding me..." The groan of a grizzled old man whined in a leather chair. He had black hair that was greying on the sides with a beard cleanly cut on his jawline. His sleeves were folded up to his elbows. He leaned over a paper his golden eyes dully looked at what he read on the paper and by the shaking of his entire body the male was indeed angry. "Oh come on when did this happen!? I was with my son for only a day and you morons just happened to flood the damn world in under half that time!?"
"But sir... we- Ack!"
"Bullshit!" The old male smacked the intern with a bat. How he got one... no one knew.
"S-Sir..."
"What!?" He shouted at the female intern as steam began to exit his mouth.
"Eep!" She held out her phone shaking in all but fright. "I-Important c-c-call from Zeus..."
The man went silent. He didn't say anything for a few seconds. Only... staring at her with a bored look.
"Better be a good reason for calling me." He settled down and raised a hand to take the call.
The interns shakily gave him the phone. With a snatch, he grumbled to himself. He was silent for a moment.
"What?" He said bluntly his golden eyes glaring at his interns.
The interns only sweated at the bluntness of the question and from then on the old man's eyes widened and got up with fire exiting his mouth. "God damn it!"
"S-sir...?" The female intern began to tremble behind the male as she tried to call out to their boss.
He looked back and growled. Eyes glowing in fury. "AGE has been discovered by the devils... and the [Sinless] has been found."
