Chapter 1

*Elora's POV*

We clambered out of Lola's mustard camper, and grabbed our bags and towels to head to the beach we grew up on.

We took up our usual spot on the quiet beach and laid out our towels. It was early morning, meaning that our only company was the odd runner out with their dogs, and the early morning surfers.

"I saw Jack with Bobbie last night." I mumbled tentatively, wary of approaching the subject as Lola and Jack had only recently split from their 7 month relationship.

"Ugh, I know. Straight for the school skank, shows how much I meant." Lola replied, throwing her bag at the end of her towel in disgust.

"I always knew he was bad from the start but you two were so happy. I thought he'd truly changed." I stated truthfully.

"Yeah well, look what happened." Lola said getting in a hump.

"Sorry doll, I'm meant to be cheering you up." I said sympathetically.

"It's alright; I'm off for a quick swim anyway."

"Okey doke, see you in a bizzle."I replied, stretching out to get comfy on the towel.

*Lola's POV*

I tried to shake the thoughts of Jack and that scum out of my mind as I walked the stretch down to the water. Diving gracefully into the cool ocean once I reached a suitable depth, loving the refreshing feeling I felt.

I swam quickly my speed fuelled by my anger from the recent break up; when I resurfaced I was far out to sea. Taking this time to float and relax letting the current take me, falling into a light trance as the sun warmed my face.

I could hear shouts after a while, probably from the direction of the surfer's territory, nevertheless I ignored them. They weren't relevant to me.

When suddenly I felt a hard blow to the back of my head, causing me to panic and start splashing suddenly. I was confused and dizzy as I rubbed my hand through my long golden locks, coming across a large bump.

"Hey, hey are you alright? Hey I'm sorry, so sorry, you alright?" A deep male voice called from behind me as I felt something hard brush my shoulder and a large pair of hands grab my underarms, pulling me above the surface and placing me on to a hard platform.

Feeling something brush my cheek I opened my eyes and blinked to clear my hazed vision.

"Hey, hey I hit you with my surfboard while you were floating. I tried to warn you but you didn't hear."

I groaned slightly and put my hand on my head at the place where the board had collided with my skull.

"Let's get you back to shore and sort you out." He decided when I didn't respond and began to paddle the board back to the beach. "I'm Cody by the way." He announced.

"L-Lola." I mumbled, balancing myself on the board with my hands.

*Elora's POV*

After half an hour of lying in the sun I began to develop a thirst and searched in my bag for my bottle of water. After clearing out my bag and repacking it I discovered that I must have left it in the van. I leant across to Lola's bag grabbing the keys to the vintage beauty and began to walk towards the road.

Once I reached the van, I routed around in the cooler we always kept in the back. Grabbing the biggest bottle of water I could find as I knew Lola would be thirsty when she got back.

I locked the van and began to walk back to our favourite spot when I saw a boy paddling a dazed girl into shore. As they became closer I realised the blonde haired girl was wearing the same bikini as Lola. At this point I knew she'd got herself into another mess.

Grabbing a towel I began to run down to the shore line, calling for Lola as I ran.
