Alright guys, this is me coming back from a long time. I just want you guys to know, I am a little rusty, so I hope you guys don't mind.
Author's note: Stephanie Meyer owns all the characters; I just use them for my stories. Anything said in the story could be a typical character or something new I have changed in them. Also, there is some language so I have rated this as M. Please enjoy!
Bella and Jasper. Two great friends at first, but could they become something more? Could they end up as a couple? Who knows. Nobody. That's who….
It's a cool crisp day in Forks, Washington. It is the first day of school, and Bella Swan is starting to get ready for classes. Bella Swan is a senior in Forks High, and she is not one of the most popular people, but has a small group of friends. She is about five feet and four inches tall, with long brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. She lives with her father, Charlie Swan who is the chief of police of the small town. Charlie has brown hair and brown eyes as well, but is a few inches taller than Bella. Bella has lived with her dad for a few years now because her mother died of breast cancer when Bella was around seven or eight years old. When Bella moved back with her dad, she had a hard time adjusting, because she was shy. But now, Bella is an outgoing straight A student. She never skips classes or misses a meeting with any teacher. She does as much extra credit as she can to keep herself busy.
Moving along now with the story… Just a little background information.
Bella POV
I could hear the alarm going off and I realized it was the first day of senior year at Forks High. I couldn't wait to see my friends again. I had worked over the summer to gain some money so I had some saved up for books for college and a little extra spending money for me. I got up out of bed and went and showered and shaved for the first day. Maybe this was the year I got my first kiss, my first everything. I know, first everything. It sounds stupid. I finished getting ready for my first day; jeans from Hollister that were a dark wash, and a red blouse with a white camisole and a black camisole. I ran downstairs to see my dad sitting at the table.
"Hey dad, how'd you sleep?" I asked while rummaging through the refrigerator. I grabbed an apple and a yogurt out the fridge.
"I slept alright. You look very nice today. Are you excited for your first day at school?" He took a sip of his coffee.
"I am. I am all done getting ready, and my backpack is sitting on the couch." I said. I looked at the time and freaked out. "Crap dad I have to go! It's 7:30 and school starts in thirty minutes!" I hugged and kissed Charlie's cheek. "Love you dad! See you after work tonight!" I ran and grabbed my bag and slid my shoes on.
"Love you too Bells! See you after work!" he hollered before I ran out the door and slammed it behind me. I ran to my Chevrolet 1987 truck sitting in the drive way. I love that thing; rusted red and yet rode smoothly. I chuckled at the thought and hopped in my truck, starting it up.
"God I love to hear you purr baby." I said to myself. I buckled up and drove to Forks High, on my last first day of high school.
It was 7:50 when I got to the high school; I was never late. I hopped out of my truck and started towards the office so I could get my new schedule. I saw Mrs. Webber sitting in her chair, front and center. She smiled at me and started looking for my schedule.
"Good morning Mrs. Webber. You look absolutely stunning today." I smiled at her.
"Good morning Miss Bella and thank you, and same to you! Just like a rose today dear!" She chuckled and pulled out two schedules.
"I have two schedules?" I asked, confused because no one gets a double of their schedule.
"Oh no dear, you see, there is a new student that will be starting today. He has the same classes as you do at the same time, and well… I wondered if you wouldn't mind showing him around today?" She smiled and pushed the schedules towards me.
"Of course! I love to help the new students. What's his name?" I said.
"His name is Jasper Whitlock. He is a doll hon. You'll like him." She winked at me. "Right now, he is talked with Principal Ret. If you would like to-"
"Hello Mrs. Webber. Good morning Miss Bella." Interrupted by Principal Ret.
"Good morning." I smiled and shook Principal Ret's hand. Behind him, I could see a flash of blonde hair.
"Miss Bella, I would like you to meet Mr. Whitlock. Mrs. Webber has probably told you that we matched you two up for the same schedule, so he could see a great model of a student here at Forks High." He said. Jasper Whitlock, a name I could never forget. He stood to the side of Mr. Ret and I think I met the most beautiful man in the world. He was taller than me, probably six feet. He had a chiseled jaw line and gorgeous bronze colored eyes. His hair was slightly curled and a little longer than what most men had their hair length. He smiled at me, a bright white smile. I smiled at him and I thought I was drooling.
"Nice to meet you m'am." Jasper said. He had a southern accent, almost like he was from Tennessee.
"The pleasure is mine." I smiled and we shook hands. His skin was a little cold and pale, but that seemed normal for Forks.
"Why don't you two start going to your first class." Mr. Ret said and walked back into his office.
"Right. Let's go to our first class, which is.." I looked for our first class but Jasper beat me to it.
"English class." He smiled again and I smiled right back at him. "I got to look at the schedule before I met Mr. Ret…." He looked down, a little embarrassed.
"No problem Jasper, let's go shall we?" I said. Just on cue, the bell for first period rang and we walked out of the office towards English class. As we were walking it got a little awkward because it was silent. "So why'd you move to cold and dreary Forks?" trying to burst the silence. "That is, if you don't mind me asking. I wouldn't want to intrude." He just smiled at me and nodded.
"I'm from Ginseng, Kentucky; born and raised. How about ya? Have ya always been here in Forks?" he drawled. I smiled and shook my head.
"No I haven't always been here in Forks. I lived in Tallahassee, Florida with my mother before she died when I was eight. I moved back here with my dad, Charlie. He's the Chief of Police here in Forks." I stated. I smiled and looked at the English door. "Go ahead in. Give the teacher your slip for him to sign. I will find a spot to sit." He nodded and walked in. I walked in behind him and sighed. There were very little places to sit; two seats at separate tables and then a table in the front with two seats empty. No one liked the front. I went to the front desk and sat in the chair by the wall, and Jasper sat next to me.
"Do ya mind if I sit with ya?" he whispered. I nodded and the lesson started. I looked towards the board and started to take the notes from what the teacher wrote. His name was Mr. Yagter. No one really cared for him because he was sort of boring, but what else is new? I kept taking notes and from the corner of my eye I could see Jasper fiddling with something in his hands and looking down. I looked over to him and saw a pen in his hands and smiled. I looked back up to the board and then I felt him staring at me. I pushed it off.
The class soon ended and so Jasper and I were off again to our next class; Biology and then Biology lab with Mrs. Hunsing. I liked her because she was very passionate with what she taught. The rest of the day went by pretty quickly after English. During each of our classes, I noticed Jasper each time playing with a pen, and then staring at me afterwards. I couldn't tell what was going through his head, but I would figure it out eventually. Around noon, Jasper and I left for lunch. In the cafeteria, they had burgers, pizza, sandwiches, and occasionally a dessert or two for after. Jasper seemed like a lost puppy; always following me around and smiling nervously.
"Hey Jasper, why don't you come sit with me and my friends? I'm sure they would love to meet you." I smiled and then noticed he didn't have any lunch with him. "Get some lunch Jasper." I smiled and he smiled back at me and nodded. I left for my table, which was right by the window, and Jasper came back to me with an apple and a sandwich, with some milk. "Guys, this is Jasper. Jasper, these are my friends, Jessica, Lauren, Angela, Ben, and Mike." I pointed out each one as I said their names.
"Hi guys." Jasper said quietly. He smiled at them.
"Hey Jasper, I'm Jess. I'm social butterfly of the group." Jess said. She was also the bitch too, but I didn't claim my statement aloud.
"I'm Ben, and Angela is my girlfriend." He smiled and kissed Angela on the cheek. They were a cute couple. I noticed Jasper nodding and taking note of each friend. It was interesting.
"I'm Mike and uh, I'm the jock. Ben and Angela are the computer geeks." He chuckled and smiled at Ben and Ang. "You look like you played a little football or basketball. Try-outs are this week for football. Thursday after school." He smirked at me.
"I didn't play much at home, but I did 'work out' in a way. I worked on the farm with my grandpa." Jasper stated. Mike pretended to look hurt but he nodded.
"And lastly, Lauren. I like to draw a lot. You'll see me in the art room a lot." Lauren smiled at Jasper and looked down.
"It was a pleasure to meet y'all, but it's almost time to go to gym for Bella n' I. Talk to y'all later?" Jasper waved and I looked at the time realizing he was right. I got up with him and we went to gym. They all nodded and waved away.
After gym, Jasper and I said our goodbyes for the day was over and it was time to go home.
"Hold up, Bella." Jasper said. I looked back at him and smiled.
"Sure what's up?"
"I'll see ya tomorrow for classes' right?" He sounded hopeful. It was kind of cute.
"Yeah of course. I'll see you tomorrow Jasper." I smiled. We walked our separate ways and left for home.
So what do you guys think so far? Leave a review! Can't wait to hear the opinions.
