She leaned her back against the giant face tilted upward towards the sky. The normal happiness that filled her chocolate brown eyes were replaced with a sad, distant longing.
It had been three years now. Three long, painful, lonely years since she saw him last. Yet she still remembered everything about him.
Yes, she could still see his red 'fur of the fire rat' kimono. Still see his long, silver hair shinning in the sun light, with his cute silver dog ears occasionally twitching. His triumphant smirk, and the giant form of tetsusiaga slung over his shoulder. Her thoughts then traveled back to the times they'd fought beside each other. Then to the way his golden eyes would soften when he was especially worried about her. His arms wrapped protectively around her in a firm, yet loving embrace.
It hurt being away from him. Oh did it hurt. But there were curtain times she could feel him with her. It would only be for an instant, if that, but it was still nice. Just a feeling of warmth over her hand, or a sense of comfort she'd feel when she was crying. Even now, it felt like she could feel an arm wrapped around her shoulder. His arm. Inuyasha's arm.
It was feelings like this that reminded her that he missed her too. That he was still faithfully waiting for her to return, just like she used to. And she would find a way. No matter what she'd find a way back to him. Yes, someday soon they'd be together again. She'd find a way she had to.
