The following poem honors the tale of Yukihime, the tragic and beautiful heroine of Sengoku Rance, who goes to incredible lengths to try and save her broken kingdom and her captured father. All rights reserved, and Comments are welcome!
Note that this will be a series of poems, running as long as I get inspiration :)
Trampled Jasmine, Stained Snowflake
The trampled, broken Jasmine
Lies in pieces amongst the grass
Surrounded by fallen green blades
Harking to a time long past.
What remains of her sanctuary
Is burned in hate and bidden goodbye
With some food and clothes, the bare rudimentary,
The fallen princess escaped for her safety.
She searched for a savior
To remove her dishonor,
To save a broken kingdom,
To rescue her captured willow.
But alas, she becomes stained
With the colors of beasts
By protectors and foes alike
The fragile snowflake devoured as their feast.
She pays for help a fearful price
With her last treasure, her dignity
She hopes that it will suffice
Ravaged marks run through her body.
Her heart and mind try to stay focused and sane,
Her feelings a mix of frustration and shame.
Perhaps one day, she will finally find,
True Love, and the release she seeks,
From the ties that bind.
