Her eyes glistened and her fingers swaggered over the tray of divine chocolates. 2 years, it's been 2 years since she ate the sweet. 2 years since she's eaten any sugar. Or real food. Her blood sugar had lowered down to average and her weight was 5 pounds below average. Meaning she now was underweight. Her doctor was surprised. She had been the most chubbiest and sick girl he's ever met. And he had met many fat people. But her case was special, diagnosed with diabetes type 2 at age 9. She was extremely overweight and doctors thought she would never make it. Her cousin, Misao, had stopped coming to her house after she was diagnosed. She was probably scared. Kaye couldn't help herself. No matter what she ate she always gained weight. It seemed that she would eat 1 grape and she would gain 10 pounds. She quit after going on several suggested diets, believing this was her destiny. TO die all alone and fat. Her Mother and step-father loved her, but were afraid of her. The her mothers first daughter would die before doing anything good in life. Kaye hated it. But after seeing the change of attitude and looks from others and her tv idols, plus watching a documentary, she stopped herself from eating anything that was sweet and tasted good. She decided to go and live in her grandparents farm in the outskirts of town. Over the past 2 years, she trained. She ran, she swam, she jumped, she exercised. She ate smaller portions and healthier meals. And by the summer of senior year, she was a completely new person. No one was able to recognize her. she'd lost so much weight that even her Mother didn't know who she was. She was proud. Her body had formed curves, not to big. Her eyes twinkled like bright green emeralds. Her hair grew below hr waist and down to her ankles. Her face had dimples, and she became the prettiest girl in town. She chose to wear normal clothes. It was weird though. She was used to having a big belly and a big bum. She was used to having to wear large clothes. Her bed seemed larger then it was. Everything in her room looked giant.

Her Mother decided to treat her with some chocolate. Fancy Swedish chocolate. She could choose a small bag of chocolates and she now was deciding what chocolates she wanted.

"Hurry up K. We need to go to your Grandmother Jadei in the downtown area." Her Mother urged her.

"Ok fine Otta-san." She tapped her fingers against the agile glass. Then she picked the special chocolates. She pinted at 8 different chocolates.

"I would like those please." She asked the worker behind the glass. The worker nodded and picked the special 8. She put them in a white plastic yet fancy looking bag.

"That will be 350 yen please." She said. Kaye gave a pleading look at her Mother,"Please...i'm broke. I wasted that money on school suplies and training equipment." The look said. Her Mother sighed and got 400 yen out of her wallet. She stepped up to the glass counter and gave it to the worker.

"Kepp the change." She smiled. The worker grinned and handed her the white bag.

"Arigato Miss."

"Arigato...Jenga." Kaye's Mother looked at the tag. The worker took the 50 yen that was given to her as a tip and put the 350 in the cashier box. Kaye smiled as she got handed the bag of delight. Her Mother didn't need to ask her about brushing her teeth or going on the run later on. Kaye had her toothbrush and toothpaste with her and had ran 25 miles that morning. She was exhausted ad her stomach growled all the way to the store. She had her pajamas in her bag along with her phone and emergency debit cards. Her Grandma Jadei had asked for Kaye and her siblings (she only had 1 biological sibling, the other 2 were steps.) to sleep over. And since Kaye would be going off to college soon, she figured why not?

"Oh in the name of Aphrodite. Im in love!" She moaned when she bit the first chocolate as they got out.

Ok and thanks to the people who are reading my fanfic! is short. :P

"Oh Kayen, when will you learn." Her Mother laughed.

Just at that moment Kaye's phone rang. The sound of kpop music blasted from her bag. She quickly answered it without bothering to look at the number.

"Yes, who is this?" She asked.

"Oh Kayen! It's me, your cousin, Misao." The bright and cheery voice squeaked. Kaye froze. Misao, for 6 years she hadn't spoken to her. And now she wanted to talk?

"What is it little cousin?" Kaye growled.

"I want you to come over to my house on Friday noon. I want you to meet a friend of mine. " She giggled in the background. Meet someone? Who? Why? Kaye thought. She wanted to fix the bridge between her and Misao. Even though she acted as if nothing happened. She looked at her Mother who heard everything. Then she spoke,"Fine. I'll come. I have early release tomorrow and my Grandma's house is close to yours. I can come."

"Yay! And Kayen?"

"Yes."

"Even though it's been 6 years, I love you." The call ended.
