Brotherhood

The words of Dean's confession hung heavy in the still air. The emotion wrought by every jagged word could not be denied. Crystalline tears merely the physical manifestation of the raw grief, fear, shame, and ultimately disgust clouding his eyes, muddying the gemstone green.

Sam, whose shoulders were bowed with empathetic burden, kept his eyes firmly fixed on the beer bottle in his hands. Unable to find his voice, he did the only thing he could. He reached out, curled his fingers firmly around Dean's shoulder—the gesture meaning more than a thousand words. I'm here for you, brother. Always.
