I love Zosia's character and I think Camilla Arfwedson is a stunning actress. This was swirling around in my head so I had to write it down.
The door to the flat swung open, and with all her might, Zosia stumbled inside, laughing drunkenly at her clumsy actions. As she fumbled around with her keys she tried mercilessly to lock the door, eventually giving up, sliding down the door to sit down. Soon, her drunk laughter turned into choked up sobs. Zosia buried her head into her knees and cried, hard, letting out all of the emotion with it. The prospect of her father trying to be in her life again, and the fact it had been a mere few days since she had been suspended was weighing heavily on her shoulders.
"Zosia?" Zosia sighed heavily as she realised that she had in fact awoken her flatmate, Arthur. Zosia hurriedly scrambled to her feet and stormed to her bedroom and the sound of the wooden door slamming hard captured Arthurs' senses. Zosia could feel the all too familiar feeling of tears building up in her eyes, and she was certain they were tears of anger, not only at her father, but at herself. Here she was, twenty six years of age, and acting like a complete lunatic, going out drinking every night because she had been suspended. Surely if she was that passionate about her job, she would have gone in the next day and tried to talk Guy round. She would never call him dad, not after him being so distant after her mother died. As she wriggled out of her clothes, she practically dragged herself to her chest of drawers, and grabbed some sleepwear and pulled it over her head before collapsing onto the bed in a fit of sobbing. She was sure she had been lying there for a good thirty minutes when she heard a gentle tapping on the door, which caused her to look up at the door.
"Zosia. Can I come in?" Arthur had his face pressed up against her door, trying to hear a response. Upon getting no reply, he frowned and remained in his position. A sudden jolt of the door being opened caused Arthur to stumble into Zosia's bedroom, causing her to smile through her tears, the first time she had properly smiled in a while, she thought to herself. After straightening his glasses and fixing his top, he looked up at Zosia. "I know you're hurting, and I know you're father being here must be hard, but drinking yourself into oblivion isn't going to help." He rambled a bit, but it was true. Zosia sighed and looked down, nervously fiddling with a piece of her thick brown hair.
Nothing prepared Arthur for what would happen next. Zosia practically flung her arms around Arthur and started to cry. "I miss her Digby…" She whimpered. Arthur felt extremely awkward at first, but after a few moments he enveloped his friend and colleague into his arms and kissed the top of her head. "I know you do..." He whispered, a little shocked at himself for how caring he was being towards her. "Talk to me, don't bottle it up."
Zosia looked up at her friend and she smiled warmly. "When did you become so caring?" She asked smiling quirkily at him. Suddenly, with her thoughts clouded with alcohol, she tilted her head upwards and kissed his neck tenderly. "Thank you for being so kind to me…" She whispered and tugged his shirt and they headed into the bedroom.
