Naruto slowly made his way to the hokage's office. He wasn't in a rush, He hadn't been in a rush to get there for the last year. The reason was simple. He wasn't hokage, He wasn't able to make his dream come true, He had failed.
But that's not the main reason he was in no hurry. Sasuke was there. Sasuke had been declaired the new hokage after tsunade's death. Sasuke , The one who betrayed his own village, The one who left it and tried to distroy it. Sasuke, Had been declaired hokage.
After all he had done to help this village, To help tsunade, After he brought sasuke back to the village. He had did all of that and more. He trained, blood and tears, So hard yet he had failed.
It was probley because of Kyuubi, He sighed.
Life would never let the sun shine on him, Not even just once. Now here he was takeing a mission report to his best friend who was now the hokage.
What had sasuke done for this village? Hurt it? Distroy it? Try to tear it down just to hurt it?
It hurt. Naruto admited. He often cried at these thoughts. He had done everything in his power to make his dream come true and then his best friend turns around and stabs him in the back once again by accepting the offer.
Everytime he walked into the hokage quarters he got this naggina feeling of betrail, jelousy, hatred, discussed, Sadness.
Being a jonen was all he had left. He would just have to deal with that.
He knocked on the door of the hokage's office.
"Enter." Came sasuke's low voice.
Naruto put his feelings aside and pushed the door to the office open, Stepping inside.
"Mission report hokage sama." Naruto layed the papers on the desk and turned to leave, Wanting to get out of there as quick as he could.
He was half way out the door before sasuke spoke once again.
"Naruto.."
"Yes hokage sama?" He stared at the ground not bothering to turn and look at his ex best friend.
"It bothers you dosen't it?"
His hold on the doorhandle tightened visibly but he held his tongue and fought off the erge to cry.
"What are you talking about hokage sama?" He asked in a hushed voice.
Sasuke stood from his desk and made his way over to the blond boy. He pulled naruto's hand away from the door and slammed it closed.
Naruto squeezed his eyes shut, A pained expression upon his face, He felt betrayed. He couldn't let sasuke know how he felt tho. He was the hokage after all, You don't disrespect him and get away with it.
"I see the pain in your eyes naruto. I know you hate me for what i've done. Just admit it." Sasuke turned naruto to look him in the face.
The boys head was bowed and he looked like he was about to cry. Sasuke lifted his face to stare into his own instead of the ground.
"Don't.." Naruto wispered turning his head out of sasuke's grasp. " You knew what my dream was and you stole it from me."
" I only did it to protect you naruto. We both know how weak you are."
"I'm not weak.." He wispered again.
"You are naruto, Your just as weak as your father was." His voie was quiet.
"I'm not weak god damn it!" Naruto screamed and pushed sasuke away from him. His eyes were filled with tesars of hate as he stared at his ex best friend. The one he was in love with.
"It's alright to admit it naruto. I'll keep you safe. You just have to want me to." Naruto knew his feelings, He just wouldnt accept them.
"I might have admited it before, But now you are nothing but a blank page to me. I'll be fine without you. I always have been."
And with that naruto left, Walked away from his dreams.
