"Will you wait for me?" I ask
He hesitates,
Says, "I'm not sure yet.. It depends. Will you wait for me?"
I look into his brown eyes,
I see heaven.
I wrap my arms around him.
"I'll wait for you until the day I die."
He smiles softly, sadly.
"You don't have to wait that long.."
"I want to. I was told never to give up on the things I love.."
He stares at me, shock across his face.
"You mean.. You.. Love me…?"
I stare at my worn converse for what seems like hours..
He puts his hand under my chin, pulls my head gently up..
"Yeah.. I do love you.." I reply tentatively.
He pulls me to him, squishing me against his body.
"I love you too," he whispers in my ear.
Then he kisses my cheek,
And just like that-
He's gone..
