His eyes sparkled in the light. I gazed at then, hypnotised. We made eye contact. He smiled at me. I blushed and looked away.

"Hi there," he said. My face was burning.

"Hi Jack," I said. I smiled to let out my emotions.

"You look gorgeous tonight," he said. I shivered. He thought I looked gorgeous!

"Thanks," I said. An awkward silence followed. "Erm… I have to go over here now"

"Oh, ok" His face fell.

"Well, bye!" I turned away so I didn't see his answer.

I picked up the phone and dialled.

"Hello?" came Jack's voice.

"Hi its Nina," I said.

"Oh, hey Nina! How are you?"

"Yeah not bad thanks. I was wondering are you doing anything at the moment?"

"Um, does sitting on my couch watching footy count as anything?"

"Absolutely not!" I replied, almost disgusted. "How does a movie sound, just the two of us?"

"Are you asking my on a date?"

"You could say that"

I hung up, then squealed with delight.

"What should we see?"

"I don't know, not some chick flick though!"

"But they're my favourite! What about…" I had to think, then her cut me off.

"Dukes of Hazzard?"

"Hmmm… you just want to look at Jessica's assets!" I accused. We giggled.

We agreed on Dukes of Hazzard and walked down to the cinema. As we sat down we saw Erinsborough's latest couple Boyd Hoyland and Sky Mangel walk in.

"Whoever would have thought they would get together eh?" whispered Jack. I silently agreed but said nothing.

I watched Boyd and Sky's lips press against each other, the watched their heads sink out of view. Well at least some of us came here for the movie.

Jacks arm slid behind my neck. I felt a shiver run down my spine. I moved closer to him. He leaned in for the kiss. I hesitated then moved my mouth towards his. As we connected my heart began to beat faster and faster. Happiness shot through me like a bullet. I drew back, feeling that the moment was over. I opened my eyes and smiled at him. Happiness at last.
