Summary: Deidara's depressing last moments after the death of his partner.
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto
Note: Deidara makes me angsty. Even though he is all 'happy' in the manga/anime he makes me feel like he is covering up some sort of darkness. Does that make sense?

He loved him, and he left him. Deidara had become suicidal. He was never quite the same after Sasori's death. He blamed himself. He had gotten cocky and dragged off the jinchuuriki. He had never thought that the old hag and that pink haired bitch could finish him off.
He had thought of it as a joke, a very sick and wrong joke the leader played. The leader never joked, and when they handed him his new partner he had half the mind to kill him right there. Tobi, he didn't belong in the Akatsuki. Tobi still believed in innocence. He believed he was a 'good boy'.
He had insulted him and laughed when brought to the scene, he just couldn't face the facts that he was gone. He refused the fact that he was gone. He wanted Sasori to jump up and scream surprise, no matter how much of a fool he would have been. Sasori was everything to him, even if it took his death for him to notice.
"So much for eternal, eh Danna?"
He missed him so much. Deidara never cried, and certainly wouldn't cry at something as silly as his partner's death. It was so unfair and sudden. He didn't want to face the fact that he loved him more than he should. He never told him he loved him more that he should.
The other members either paid him no mind or had very failed attempts at cheering him up. When the leader had taken him aside and told him to smarten up or he'll get himself killed he simply laughed it off. He had nothing to live for now.
So here he stood, confronting death. It's the end now, but it was all the same. You live to die and die to live again. A single word with a single tear slid down his face.
His last thoughts ran through his head. They weren't of the organization, or of his family long forgotten. He had only memories of their time together and regrets of what he could have said or done to express himself.
I'll see you soon Sasori, tell me what it was like when I meet you in hell. Was my demise my greatest master piece?
"Katsu".
