prologue- One Simple Wish
Rebecca stared helplessly out the car window, wishing it would just open and wisk her away from the world, the world she lived. She then turned her head slightly at her father in the drivers seat, he was too busy on his work cell phone to even notice that his own daughter was sighing loudly every five minutes. She wanted to just stab herself, her life was useless, her father not caring for her needs, her mother deceased for a year and almost a half, and now, now she had to move. Move from the so-called great life she lived. She was moving from the house she stayed at since she was brought home from the delivery room, from the Honor Society at school that she worked tiredless to get into, and the wonderful boyfriend she cared about, so much that she even considered moving to the next step with him. She now knew her life was over. She even tried hard to convience her father to stop the arrangement, but all he would uselessly say was, "It's a new life in the Orange County, a place you would love and enjoy..."
"We're here!" Rebecca's father interrupted her gazing out the window. They parked in front of a large house, painted with a peachy color with windows that reached the second story, it defiently looked like a celebrity's house to Rebecca. "Wow..." was the only thing that was spoken from her lips. She never lived in a house remotely close to what she was staring at now, mostly because her father never got a job like he does now, the job that kept him away from his only family.
"Well, don't just sit there, get out and check it out." Her father then said handing Rebecca one lonely key to the house. She grasped the tiny silver key in her hand and glared at it, did she really want to go check out the house, or throw the key back to her father and run away as far as she can...she didn't hesitate anymore, but just opened the car door and walked towards the house...What really was lying beyond this house, beyond her new school...beyond the OC...
