Summary: It's the morning after. After what? Well, Kinshiro doesn't want to get out of bed. He'd rather not wake Atsushi up.
Kinshiro opened his eyes and looked around the room. Everything seemed in perfect order, as it always did. Normally he would get up and begin preparations for the day. Today he closed his eyes and snuggled back under the blankets. Today he did not have to get up. Today he didn't want to get up. Today he could take as long as he wished to move out of bed and no one would expect him to be anywhere. He had nowhere to go and nothing at all to do. He'd made arrangements the night before for that.
And the reason for that was the best reason of all to stay right where he was: Atsushi wasn't awake yet.
He peeked down to see his boyfriend, one arm flung across Kinshiro's waist, the other tucked up under himself, breathing deeply and quietly, eyes closed, so deeply asleep.
Kinshiro wanted him to stay like that. He loved Atsushi awake, vibrant and alive, but he very seldom had moments like this, when only silence reigned, and he wanted to enjoy it while he could. When Atsushi woke up, they probably would have to get up, at least eventually. There would be showers and breakfast and planning what to do with the rest of the day, and how to break this news to the others.
That last part Kinshiro wasn't certain of. It wasn't as if it were their business, but he knew how his At-chan thought. Atsushi would want his friends to know that he and Kinshiro were together.
Perhaps that wasn't the right way to phrase it, even to himself. They all knew that they were together. It hadn't been something either of them thought to hide. But to let them know that their relationship had taken another step?
That might be more like it. So long as they didn't ask questions that were none of their business, then he really didn't care if they knew or not.
Though in all truth, Kinshiro suspected Zaou already guessed. He had a knack for that kind of thing.
At any rate, that would be for the future and Kinshiro wanted to enjoy his present, with a very warm and cuddly At-chan curled up beside him, warm blankets spread on top of him, and nothing at all to do but enjoy the long stretch of time until Atsushi woke up.
"Mmm… Kin-chan?" Atsushi slowly lifted his head, proving that long stretch of time wasn't so long after all. "Good morning?"
Atsushi's morning smile was the sweetest thing Kinshiro could remember seeing in his entire life. "Good morning," he murmured, reaching down to brush his fingers over At-chan's cheek. "How are you feeling?"
"Wonderful," Atsushi replied, leaning into the touch. "What about you?"
"The same." Kinshiro wasn't certain if he should brush his teeth or not before a morning kiss but Atsushi made the question moot by leaning up toward him and touching their lips together. If Atsushi had morning breath, Kinshiro certainly wasn't going to complain. And for a lifetime of mornings thereafter, he had nothing to complain about.
The End
