How some of us wish
We didn't exist
As humans,
Because we are ashamed
Of how others act
Or, in Job's case,
Because he was so
Completely miserable
And thought he was a bother.
But ourselves, we're not the problem
It's what was first shown
To us, as a snake
He who can take many forms
Trying to destroy
All of humanity
He's got tricks all up his sleeve
And we're entranced
Like a child at a magic show
He's laughing behind his mask
Wishing we'd all turn
But knowing some aren't
So easily fooled.
Humans are so cruel
And destructive
It seems the devil's winning
But we know God's already won.
For some reason the devil
Keeps trying, maybe just to
Make all the more people suffer with him.
But like all things he does
The pleasure only lasts
For a season, even with him
And God will be there
At the end
To condemn this cruel
Pied piper and his followers
But only then
At the end.
