"Sun shining, I could get used to sitting around like this," Cao Pi stirred in his chair, but then slumped back down, clearly bored. After many attempts of getting him to cheer up Zhen Ji decided to find her horse and patrol the village. The streets were uncomfortably full, with swarms of people gathering around the latest stall.
"Come on people! The finest jewels you will ever buy, cheap as ever!" At these words Zhen Ji went to investigate. The street were quite dark and with all the people surrounding the stall it was very hard to see, despite the glistening moon floating above there heads.
"Out the way! Move, can't you see that you are in the way!" At the sight of their leader's wife they moved swiftly aside. After staring at the jewels Zhen Ji ran her thin fingers over the smooth surface of a diamond. The shop keeper look agitated at the diamond, worrying that Zhen Ji might take it.
"I will give you five gold for this gem, and another two gold for you to make a necklace out of it," The shop keeper didn't argue, he just picked up the gem and told his son to start making the necklace. Zhen Ji gave him seven fine pieces of gold, then mounted her stallion and headed towards to her home. She was going to get Cao Pi something nice from the armour tent, but instead she found a long green flute resting on a pillow in the corner of the tent. The flute had a golden serpent curling around the long tube. As Zhen Ji picked up the flute she felt the oldness in the wood. It was starting to splinter and the wood inside of it was turning a damp green, it was obviously well used and loved. She needed to have it, she was drawn to it. The metal plate felt cold against her tender lips, but the finger places were full of warmth and welcome. Her fingers brushed over each hole with the smoothness of the snake that spun around the flute itself.
