A/N: Wrote this up one day while I was on punishment, forgot I wrote it, and just found it again, so I thought I'd type it up and post it. A bit extreme, but I was in a dark mood. Someone had to die or I'd go crazy. Enjoy!

It was stupid. So stupid. A mistake she never meant to make. Or maybe she just wasn't prepared for the outcome. And she never thought one impulsive decision could turn her entire life upside down. She always expected something more. But as she stared at the pill bottle, she knew that would never be possible.

She had to end it. If she didn't, she didn't know how she would be able to handle life. She opened up the orange pill bottle. The little red pills stared back at her, mocking her, daring her to do it.

She looked back at the school. Her school. Degrassi. She would miss it. She would miss Eli, even if he didn't miss her. He wouldn't. She knew he wouldn't.

He was part of the reason she had to end things. She wouldn't be able to deal with seeing him every day, knowing he hated her. Knowing he wanted nothing to do with her. And that thought alone willed her to pour the pills into the palm of her hand.

One pill. Two pills. Three pills. Four. She kept going, swallowing them, staring at her school. She laid her head against the bench outside, feeling the grass surrounding her. It was their bench. The bench they sat at every single day.

She saw a hearse pull up and Eli get out of it. Dressed in all black, he was perfect, like an angel. She felt tears well up in her eyes and she clutched the empty pill bottle tighter. The vision of him pushed her to take the last pill that lay in her hand and put it in her mouth.

She could feel herself slipping away and she grasped the grass beneath her. Was this what death felt like?

Eli saw her, sitting on the grass, leaning against their bench. Her eyes were open, staring up at the sky. He frowned and walked over to her. She looked up at him, her bottom lip trembling.

He saw a flash of orange, realizing she was holding an empty pill bottle. He could piece together what was going on by then. Tears welled in his eyes as he crouched down next to her.

"No. Please. No. Why, Clare?" He asked her, his voice shaking.

"What meaning does my life have…without you?" She whispered to him. He shook his head.

"No. No! Stay with me! Please, stay with me!" He cried out.

"I love you." She whispered, taking her last breath, closing her eyes for the last time.

"No!" He shouted. He cradled her in his arms and her head rolled back and hit his chest. He pulled out his phone to call 911. Dead. His battery was fucking dead. And so was Clare.

"God damn it!" He shouted, tears escaping his eyes faster than rain could come down. This wasn't how things were supposed to be.

"I love you, Clare. I love you." He whispered.
