Enter Bingley,

The new guy in town

The girls are all a flutter,

And the word's going round

He just bought the big

House on the Hill

But what's that?

His friend's richer still?

Mr. Darcy,

Tall, handsome and proud

Came to the ball

And called Lizzy a cow

But Lizzy just laughed,

And went on her way,

Never knowing that she

Had caught his eye that day

She met W,

Who told her some lies

And then Mr. Darcy

She did despise

When they met at his aunt's

He asked for her hand,

But she shot him down,

Insulted the man

So he gave her a letter,

That told her the truth,

And made Lizzy see

She'd been played like a fool

She still didn't love him,

But she felt really bad,

And she didn't like the fact

That she'd been had

So when W left

She didn't really care,

But he eloped with her sister

And gave her a scare

Mr. Darcy stepped in

And set him straight,

And made Lizzy start to think

She might have made a mistake

He brought Bingley back

To marry Jane,

Lizzy's big sister

Whose love Bingley claimed

But Lizzy was low

Her feelings had changed

She didn't know if he still loved her

Or what to say

Mr. Darcy's aunt came

To put rumours to rest

That Mr. Darcy and Lizzy

Were soon to be blessed

But Lizzy refused

To give her a pledge

That Mr. Darcy and she

Would never be wed

Mr. Darcy then came

As soon as he heard

"if you want me" he said

"Just say the word"

"My aunt gave me hope,

That with your defiance,

Your feelings were different

From what you first decided"

Lizzy then cried

And told him her heart

They went to her father

Whose laughter did hark

"But Lizzy" he said

"You hate Mr. Darcy"

Lizzy then blushed

And said with a smile

That she had not disliked him

For quite a long while

Well, said her father,

That settles that

If he makes you happy,

I'll be glad for that

She was then called Darcy

In name if not law

And it was a happier ending

Than most people ever saw
