The Legendary Papou Fruit
a/n This is my first fic ever, and this is just the prelude. I hope you enjoy!
Ami, now on her journey home from the library, was not paying any attention what so ever. With her head poked into a book, she did not notice the mysterious portal that had formed ahead, and walked straight into it.
With nothing but the last line of the last chapter of Lonely Hearts of the Cosmos running through her mind, Ami awoke to beautiful ocean scenery. Two piercing blue eyes were the only things out of place...
"Where am I?" was the only thing see could think to say... and then a very high-pitched scream. The blue eyes belonged to non other than Sora, a local who dreamed to travel to many other worlds. The young boy jumped back with a short, inaudible gasp, and then refocused to say, "Don't be alarmed, I won't hurt you, I promise. To answer your question, you're on the Destiny Islands." The young blue haired genius was rather taken aback, but once she took in all the information, she could only react with a big, "What? Destiny Islands...I have never heard of such a place, how could this be?"
By that time, the island native was a little skeptical toward the girl, and that maybe she had hit her head on a very large rock. Then, low and behold, Riku came jogging on toward the pair.
"Sora, why aren't you looking for supplies that we..." but his voice seemed to trail of as he spotted the soaking girl standing alongside Sora.
"Umm Riku, I think you should meet..." he looked around for a moment then blurted, "What is your name exactly?" The girl considered her surroundings for a moment then oh, so quietly replied, "My name is Mizuno Ami. And you are?"
"I am Sora and this is..." he was interrupted by the water nymph when she said, "Riku, I know, I heard." She bowed her head, and turned away. Sora gave her one more look, and motioned to Riku to follow. They went to a nice secluded area on the beach and sat down.
"She claims she has never heard of Destiny Island...do you think she is telling the truth... I mean I know that Kairi came here from another land, but what's the chance of it happening again? She's off her rocker, if ya ask me."
Riku allowed Sora to finish, and then said, "let Kairi talk to her, I think maybe some 'girl talk' will warm her a bit." Before he had even completed his sentence, Sora was on his way to finding Kairi.
End of flashback
"Hello Ami."
"Hi," is her soft and sincere answer. By now she had learned everyone's basic walking pattern, and knew exactly who it was. This day marked the three-week anniversary in being stranded on a strange island, but in her mind, it was a nice vacation. Riku had taken a seat next to her while she was counting the days, and the events that had taken place. He looked into her dazed eyes and sighed. They were so beautiful and pure; she seemed so innocent.
