The french quarter was alive with activity and music, people crowded the streets their bodies mashed together making it almost impossible to move, different types of music could be heard from the streets and the surrounding bars. Their was laughter, joy and togetherness, people dancing with people they'd never met and will probably not remember the next morning. Lilly Luna loved every inch of it.

She knew she shouldn't be here, her brother and family would kill her, or permanently lock her up if they found out but for one night she wanted to forget her family obligations, the rules in which she had to follow and the role she had to play in her life. She just wanted to forget.

A random guy grabs her hand and begins to spin her around, a loud ring of laughter leaving her lips as he pulls her one way or another, the guy lets go after a handful of spins and grabs someone else allowing Lilly to right herself and stop the dizzying sensation washing over her senses. Once she no longer feels as though she's going to puke she pushes her way through the crowd, random guys dropping kisses onto her check, she manages to make it through the crowd and onto the sidewalk.

She stands watching the group for a while, she knew half of them were tourists. All of them experiencing the fun and laughter that is New Orleans. After a while she turns and walks into the bar nearest to her, the sign reading 'Rousseau's'. The bar was just as alive as outside, people laughing and dancing along to the jazz band playing in the corner.

She fights her way to the bar and smiles as the blond bartender walks over.

"What would you like?"

"Rum and Coke" Lilly replies smiling "Heavy on the rum"

"Coming right up"

Lilly thanks the woman before turning back around to watch everyone laugh and dance, the feeling of longing drifting into her bones allowing her fun smile to be replaced with one of sadness.

"First time in the quarter"

Lilly jumps at the voice and turns to see the bartender back with her drink.

"I live on the outskirts but I've never been inside"

The bartender nods and walks off leaving Lilly to her drink and the entertainment. She stays for a while listening to the music and dancing every now and then when random people grab her hand and pull her into the fro of things. But she soon decides to leave and head back out into the streets, where the party seems to have gotten more lively whilst she was inside.

As she walking along the sidewalk, enjoying the intoxicating laughter spilling from every pore of the tourists, a dark skinned man walks over to her and stops in front of her a smirk on his face. He was a cute in a young-ish kind of way with creamy brown skin, curly brown hair and deep brown eyes.

"Yes" She drawls, clearly intrigued as to why he would stop in front of her

"How do you feel about a fight night?" he asks ignoring her sarcasm

"And what does fight night entail exactly?"

"Just a bunch of people knocking the lights out of each other"

"I'm down"She agrees deciding that if she truly wanted a night where she forgot everything she might as well attend one of the party's, well in this case fight nights, happening in the quarter.

He smirks and hands her an invitation with no words just a simple black 'M' posted on the creamy white card. He explains the directions to take before wandering off back into the crowd no doubt to gather more people.

She follows the mans directions and walks into what can only be explained as a compound to see men and woman all gathered around a ring situated in the middle of the room. A guy wearing a flat cap walks over to her and asks for her hand and stamps the same 'M' that was on the invitation on the back of her hand before handing her a red cup filled with beer.

"I'm Thierry, enjoy your night" he smirks before allowing her to walk past

She walks over to a group of people and stands next to them, watching and waiting for the night to begin. She always enjoyed a good fight, whether she was taking part in them or she was watching her brother and friends Oliver and Aiden fight. Either way the rush of adrenaline received was one she had yet to find anywhere else.

After what seemed like forever another dark skinned man called for their attention from the balcony, as he talks and introduces them all to the night Lilly can't help but be entranced by him. He was of average height, with a dark skin, a shaven head and brown eyes. He emitted a dark and sexy vibe whilst his voice was commanding and you couldn't help but listen to every word spoken. He was wearing dark jeans and a form fitting grey shirt which outlined his perfectly sculpted chest.

She knew she was staring but couldn't help it, something about him called to her. As though knowing she was looking at him he turns and his eyes meet with hers and if Lilly was one to believe in the phrase 'One look can tell you who you belong with' she'd have kissed the person who invented it. But she wasn't, she was a realist and knew something else was happening here, what she didn't know.

He breaks the eye contact first and Lilly follows suit looking back at the ring to see a fight already underway, she takes a large gulp of her beer feeling the twang in the back of her throat as she tries to ignore the lingering feelings coursing through her blood left by that eye to eye meeting.

The first fight ends in a bloody draw neither opponent managing to get the upper hand on the other, the next few fights go the same and Lilly can feel herself become amped up, the adrenaline coursing through her making her itchy to fight herself. Her opportunity comes a lithe brunette climbs in the ring and asks for an opponent. Lilly shouts out before she can stop herself and the crowds part to allow her to make her way to the ring.

The dark skinned man who invited her holds out his hand as she gets nears and helps her climb in the ring before taking the red cup out of her hand. Lilly looks over at the woman dancing around the other side of the ring and smirks as she pushes the sleeves of her shirt up to her elbows. She loved the fact that this fight night included bare knuckle fighting, it was the best in Lilly's opinion, nothing beat the feel of skin on skin fighting.

"Ready to lose little girl" the woman taunts making Lilly's smirk bigger

"Bring it darling"

The bell rings and Lilly flanks to the right as the woman charges at her and spins to land a solid punch to the woman's side earning a grunt from her opponent as Lilly dances over to where the woman came from. As the woman turns around Lilly watches to determine her next move and as she flies towards her Lilly raises her arm landing a solid punch to the woman's face startling her before delivering a left and right combo punch to the woman's gut.

The cheers from the crowd get louder the longer the fight continues, Lilly only have a small split on her lip whereas her opponent looked as though she would drop at any moment. As the woman tiredly dives at Lilly again she sighs before rearing back and landing a severely damaging punch to the woman's face knocking her backwards. But it's as she lands and hits her head off the floor that everything goes wrong for Lilly.

She drops to her knees as the pain her chest becomes almost unbearable, the small switch that keeps her secret in check beginning to move towards the on position. Her eyes flick over to the woman to see her laid on her back chocking on blood, her body immobile minus the movements of her chest as she coughs.

"Shit, No" Lilly whispers

"Are you okay?" A smooth voice above Lilly asks and she looks up to see the man she was staring at early kneeling above her.

"She can't die" Lilly mumbles

"She won't" he begins but Lilly cuts him off

"No she is going to, i can feel it but she really can not die" she growls

The man seems to get the message as his eyes widen and he stands up.

"EVERYBODY OUT NOW" he shouts causing loud boos to erupt from the people standing around.

The curly haired guy walks over to the other one and looks down at Lilly.

"You're one of them" he spits

"I will be if she dies" Lilly replies regretfully knowing just what he was aiming at.

His eyes widen and he turns as Lilly's eyes candy places his hand on his shoulder.

"Diego get everyone out of here" he says smoothly "No one can see this"

"Marcel" he starts

"Do it Diego" Marcel replies running a hand down his face

Diego nods and grabs the one Lilly remembers being called Thierry and they begin rounding everyone up escorting them out before leaving themselves. Lilly looks at the man Marcel as he kneels next to the woman. She almost screams as she watches his shove his hand into her chest before removing it, the woman's heart in his hand.

"Why?" Lilly asks as the pain in her chest begins to sooth, the switch sitting firmly back in off

"We don't need anymore of your kind running around" he replies

As he looks back at her he reveals how he knows what she is and Lilly almost balks, realizing she has been in a room with her immortal enemies for most of the night. And worse she had been checking one of them out.

Yep defiantly going to get killed when i go home Lilly thinks before placing an indifferent mask on her face

"I didn't know your kind did anything out of the goodness of their dead hearts either"

As she stands back to her feet and inspects her bloody hands Marcel walks over to her and lifts her chin to look at him. His brown eyes inspecting her face as though she was a wonderful piece of forbidden treasure.

"For anyone else i would have let them kill the person and trigger their curse and allow them to pay the price but i couldn't for you"

"Oh I am sorry" she snarks "I didn't mean to ruin your bad reputation"

She removes her chin from his hold and climbs out of the ring and carries on walking straight out of the compound and into the night. She passes Thierry and Diego and nods and carries on walking, her feet automatically taking her on the path to home.

Once she's far enough away from Marcel she lets out a deep breath her blood losing the hum it seemed to have whilst being around him. Images of the night also flood her brain as she realizes how close she was to triggering her secret. If she had no doubt her brother would have killed her, or worse.

She also can't help but remember the way he looked as she mentioned ruining his bad reputation, the snarkiness of her voice seeming to bring something to life in his eyes. As though it had been a while since he was challenged.

"No" She groans shaking her head "No more thinking about the hot man i'm never going to see again"

Or was she?
