No warnings to speak of, unless Derek brooding is anything new to you.

Set during the pool scene in Abomination.

'Not here.'

Sinking lower and lower, feeling the heavy, sculpted body he had worked so hard for, the muscles he'd built as a physical wall between himself and the world, dragging him down faster.

'Not here, not here, please not here...'

Of all the worries, all the thoughts to be his last, those words...

He was a selfish creature, but he knew that already. Deep down, he knew, he was still nothing but a selfish boy, putting his own feelings above the safety of the people who cared for him. Or, rather, relied on him. No one cared about him now, not anymore.

His new pack, Scott, the boy Stilinski.

Sometimes, he thought they must see him, really see him, a disgusting, pitiful excuse of a man, masquerading as a leader.

'Not here, not here, please not here...'

Of all the places to die, this place, the place where he had met her.

No, no, the place where she had found him.

A punishment for his selfishness, for his very existence.

All these years he thought the punishment was living with the knowledge of what he'd done; of the death sentence he had given his family. But, this was probably more poetic, more just.

For six years, his family had been dead. For two months his sister had been dead. And less than a month ago, he had killed the last remaining family member he had.

Derek Hale was alone, helpless, and dying, in the coldest, darkest place of his nightmares.

And suddenly...

Something pulling him, warmth, and finally, air.

The sudden lack of pressure had his ears ringing, and the chlorine in his eyes stung.

But Stilinski was holding him above the water.

And god dammit he was not dying in this pool.

So, this is what happens when I wake up thinking about Teen Wolf. The idea had been kind floating around my head since On Fire (which everyone should read), and suddenly I just to get it out.

Anyway, good, bad, let me know.

Sorry for the lack of Sterek. It just didn't feel appropriate somehow.
