L always thought he was the forbidden fruit.
Light. He knew he could never have that boy.
He couldn't help but fall head over heels for him.
What could he do?
Light Yagami was inhuman, whichever way you looked at it.
His looks were so magnificent in L's eyes. He could almost be a god.
His intelligence nearly matched L's own. Almost.
Light Yagami was the only one who could rival L.
All of the Japanese detectives had left the hotel for the day; only leaving L and Light remaining. Light was scrolling through files on his computer, L watching him intently. Light could almost feel the older man's piercing stare; it felt like knives being driven into his side.
"Yagami-kun," L finally said, breaking the long silence between them.
"What is it, Ryuzaki?" Light replied slowly, turning his head toward him.
L stood up, and walked closer to the younger man; who seemed to look a bit nervous now.
"I would like to tell you, that I am indescribably obsessed with you. Perhaps you could call the word, 'love.'" L said, his face now close to Light's.
Light was obviously freaked out, but decided he would go along with it. "I love you too, L." He finally said, L's cheeks turned barely red as Light pressed his lips to the older man's.
For the past few months, the two men had secretly been lovers. Light continued to deceive his 'darling' Misa; but never let her get to close.
Finally, that day came. The day Light, that manipulative bastard, would drop his act.
L was sitting in his chair, piling sugar cubes in his tea, explaining something to the police. Light was staring at him closely, as if waiting for something it happen.
Suddenly, all the files had been deleted. "Watari? Watari, are you there?" L said, obviously looking uneasy. L himself now gasped, and fell out of his chair.
"Ryuzaki!" Light yelled, and ran to his side.
"Yagami-kun…" L said weakly. A wide grin spread across the brunette's face, L's eyes widened slightly.
So, I was right. L thought to himself, as his heart began to give out. Light Yagami is Kira, and he closed his eyes.
