Until today, she hadn't noticed how his entire face lit up when he smiled. Until today, she hadn't noticed how it made her smile, too.
She hadn't realized how much she loved the people she worked with, how much they mattered to her, until she saw him smile.
She'd always overlooked how lucky she really was, compared to some. Jack had lost his wife, and, like Tony, had been betrayed by one person he thought he could trust. She hadn't been betrayed, and she was grateful for that.
But most of all, she was grateful for his smile. That, most of all, made her feel lucky.
Sometimes, it takes big things to make you realize how lucky you are. But sometimes, all it takes is a smile.
