Naruto and Sasuke: Goodbye For Good.

(NOTE: IF YOU'RE WONDERING WHY I WROTE THIS FANFIC, IT'S BECAUSE I WAS INSPIRED BY THE SONG CALLED "FOR GOOD" FROM THE MUSICAL "WICKED". FOR GOOD INSPIRED ME TO WRITE THIS TRAGIC NARUSASU FANFIC. NO THIS IS NOT YAOI! AS I SAID BEFORE, I AM NOT A YAOI FANGIRL! ANYWAYS, PLEASE ENJOY THIS SAD STORY BETWEEN NARUTO AND SASUKE.)

Story:
This is what I think should have happened between Naruto and Sasuke during their fight at The Final Valley.

Naruto had tried to convince Sasuke to change his mind by returning to Konoha with Naruto instead of going to Orochimaru.

Finally, Sasuke was about to leave to go to Orochimaru. But then, Naruto said:

"Wait! Sasuke!"

Sasuke then turned around.

"Sasuke... if you're really going to Orochimaru for power... then does this mean..." said Naruto as tears began to form in his eyes as he said:

"...that you're forgetting everything that happened between us... when we became Squad 7?"

"Naruto..." said Sasuke as he walked closer to Naruto.

"...look... even though... I'm going to Orochimaru... I will never forget... the times... that we've been through... together... as Squad 7." said Sasuke.

"Oh Sasuke... you were the best friend I've ever had." said Naruto.

"You too, Naruto... you too." said Sasuke with a smile.

Sasuke:

I'm limited:
Just look at me - I'm limited
And just look at you -
You can do all I couldn't do, Naruto

So now it's up to you
For both of us
Now it's up to you...

Naruto:
I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you...

Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good

Sasuke:
It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend:
Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a skybird
In a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you...

Naruto:
Because I knew you...

Both:

I have been changed for good

Sasuke:
And just to clear the air
I ask forgiveness
For the things I've done you blame me for

Naruto:

But then, I guess we know
There's blame to share

Both:
And none of it seems to matter anymore

Naruto:
Like a comet

From orbit as it
Passes a sun, like
A stream that meets
A boulder, half-way
Through the wood

Sasuke:
Like a ship blown
Off it's mooring
By a wind off the
Sea, like a seed
Dropped by a
Bird in the wood

Both:
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
I do believe I have been changed for the better

Naruto:
And because I knew you...

Sasuke:
Because I knew you...

Both:
Because I knew you...
I have been changed for good.

Naruto and Sasuke then hugged as Sasuke knocked Naruto out.

"Sa... su... ke..." said Naruto as he fell to the ground.

"Goodbye... Naruto..." said Sasuke as a tear fell from his left eye as he went back to Orochimaru and disappeared without a trace.
