As a teenager, Bruce Banner was watching television one day with his foster parents, when a black and white video came on the TV, of a man with wings on his helmet, a star on his chest, and a round shield. 'Captain America! He'll knock the Axis on their Backsis!' Bruce laughed at the play on words, and continued reading his book about science. 'Genetically engineered through a super-soldier-serum, Captain America is the peak of human physiology!' Suddenly, Bruce's stunning brown eyes widened, and he began scribbling on the blank page at the back of his book, before running upstairs and sitting down at his computer, researching anything he could find about Captain America.
22 year old Bruce Banner headed to his job at the Culver Institute, walked into his office, as usual, and grabbed the syringe and...a super-soldier-serum prototype. 'Okay...here we go.' He injected it into his arm, watching it bind to his cells on his computer screen. 'Yes!' He exclaimed, beaming, when suddenly, a second pinkie finger appeared on his left hand! Bruce sighed, took the antidote, made another serum. This went on for three months. All with different results. Eyebrow loss, height difference, and his least favourite, a third foot. All of these were cured by the antidote, but Bruce couldn't help but feel useless. As usual, he greeted his assistant, hooked himself up, and injected it. Nothing happened, until he saw it bind to his cells.
Bruce's jaw dropped, he began flipping through the pages of his journal, and read the next step. 'Saturate with gamma rays to stimulate growth...' Without a second look, Bruce jumped into the testing chamber, unaware that on the original project, VitaRays were used. 'Jack, take out the gamma gun!' He smirked, and watched as white rectangle with a silver tube and disc at the end, and a pole with a wire around the top come down from the ceiling, coming to a rest a few feet above him. 'Fire!' The machine powered up, and an extremely short green ray shot out, and into his chest, causing his knees to buckle a bit. 'A-another!' He was starting to sweat. Another one fired into his chest. He was kneeling, now. 'One...more...ray!' A third one shot out, and into his chest. He made not a sound as he grew to six feet tall, his arms swelling with muscle, and his eyesight becoming perfect. 'Oh my god...WE DID IT! WE DID IT! WE DID IT!' He repeated, jumping up and down in his new body. From behind the glass, Jack smirked and threw his hands up, unaware that his foot had disconnected a wire below.
As Bruce was celebrating, the silver disc on the machine began to rotate, before shooting the gamma rays rapidly, prompting screams from Bruce. 'Holy...AAARRRRGGGGHHHH! JACK, TURN IT OFF! SHUT EVERYTHING DO-' He screamed at the top of his lungs, as the gamma rays penetrated him, the serum keeping him alive. Inside, the gamma rays were mixing with the serum, and the serum mixing with the anger hormone, ad the anger hormone bonding with half of his DNA, setting it to change when the anger hormone was released. At that moment, the serum mutated even further, turning his skin and eyes green, and growing his muscles to twice their normal size, but due to the change, Bruce felt himself slipping away, his voice getting deeper, and deeper, and deeper, when suddenly...
The last thing Jack heard was a roar, glass shattering, and the crack of his own neck.
