Chapter 5:
The Haunting Past
Shredder was hunting down Dariyasa and Orimura Hamato.
Dariyasa and Orimura were the best ninjas at the time and had three daughters.
Venus de Milo, who was 8.
Larota, who was 6.
And Talena, who was 4.
Another baby was on the way, who was to be named Amoly.
Shredder had been studying the Hamato family for a few years.
It was finally time to take action.
He would kill the parents, then the kids in cold blood.
But little did he know, his plans would change.
The Hamato family were walking in an alley one day…when it happened.
"Mommy!" Little Talena said as her mother picked her up.
"Oh, Talena." Dariyasa exclaimed, "You are such a big girl. I great things in you and if anyone tells you differently, don't believe them."
"Ok, Mommy, I promise."
"Uh, Mom?" Young Larota said, "There are men here with big, sharp swords."
Dariyasa gasped.
The Foot Clan was standing in front of them.
With Shredder in the lead.
"Orimura, take the children and go somewhere safe." Dariyasa told her husband.
"Dariyasa, just be careful." Orimura warned her.
"Just go." Dariyasa took out her twin katana blade in case a fight broke out.
"Mommy!" Talena screamed.
"Everything will be alright me little one…..I promise," Dariyasa assured her.
Orimura took Talena, Venus, and Larota to a safe place, away from the danger of Shredder.
Talena ran away from her family to search for her mother.
Dariyasa was fighting with Shredder.
She had cuts and scrapes all over her body.
"Foolish turtle," Shredder said to her, "you have no chance of beating me."
"Maybe," Dariyasa replied. "But good always wins over evil."
"We'll see about that." Shredder charged toward Dariyasa and stabbed her in the side.
Dariyasa screamed in pain and fell on the ground.
One down, four more to go.
Shredder walked away from Dariyasa as she slowly bled to death.
That's when it started to rain.
Talena was running across the pouring rain in search for her mom.
She was screaming, crying, and shouting out her name.
No response.
Talena began crying.
Orimura rushed to find Talena, but he couldn't find her anywhere.
Luckily, he called a family friend, Samurai Maolier, to look after his girls.
"I'm going to find Talena," Orimura told Maolier, "make sure the girls stay safe."
Orimura didn't see anything in the pouring rain.
He didn't see the danger behind him.
Shredder took out his sharpest blade and stabbed Orimura.
Orimura slowly bled to death on the ground.
Samurai Maolier rushed Venus, Larota, and Amoly who was still in an egg to the sewer.
"We should be safe here for now." Maolier said calmly.
Talena was still searching for her mom in the pouring rain.
"MAMA!" She cried.
"Well, well, well." A voice said behind her.
Talena gasped.
"You're name is Donatella isn't it?" Shredder asked.
"Mommy only calls me that when I'm in big trouble, but yes that's my name." Talena replied. "Have you seen my parents? They're big green turtles and I can't find them anywhere."
"Yes," Shredder lied, "they were killed by a masked figure."
Talena started crying, "No."
"I saw them die right in front of me," Shredder continued, "I tried to stop the person, but it was too late."
Talena wiped the tears from her eyes.
"I am old, dear friend of your parents." Shredder lied. "How would you like to live with me?"
