Angst - Friendship
Adela Kaiser had always failed to block out those dreams.
Ones of an albino man who read stories, and hugged her with great warmth; of a young auburn-haired girl dressed like a maid, who's soft face wretched her heart with a yearning pain.
Adela Kaiser had always just been a normal Swiss girl living in Austria... Hadn't she?
Hello! This is the author speaking! I just want to say thank you for clicking on this story, and to please enjoy it! Now, I know I have a few stories I need to finish, but I hope to steadily complete this one. Even if it takes a while to do.
Now, enough about all that! without further ado, my (extremely short) prolouge!
There was a look of disbelief that slid across her classmate's faces.
The trio of students were gathered around her desk, chatting casually as the school day ended and students moved around them, either headed for club activities or home.
"What?!" Lauren exclaimed,"You never signed up? At all?"
"Yes?" Adela spoke, hardley suprised by her friend's reaction.
"But we all know you are really good at drawing." The other friend, Jacob, leaned in closer, resting an elbow on the paper covered desk. "You could easily win if you wanted to, even in less than a week."
"I have too much on my plate right now. You know that." Adela leaned away from Jacob's gaze. "I have the comiss-"
"The comissions from the astronomy and tennis clubs, the theatre tryouts, piano recitel practice, and evil, dreaded midterms!" Lauren cut her off, easily recalling the list of escuses she'd heard before.
"We know you have a lot of things do do right now," Jacob began, "but Lauren and I are worried that you are stretching youreslf to thin with serious work. Some fun might just do you some good."
"Yeah!" Lauren added. "And you wouldn't even need to make any new art!"
Adela raised an eyebrow.
"Oh, don't give me that look! It's true! You just need to submit an original piece to enter the contest." Lauren paused, a thoughtful look on her face. "I mean you could even just enter one of those secret~ pai-"
"No!" Adela interjected, causing a few heads to turn the group's way. "I am not submitting those!" Feeling the eyes upon them, she stood up, and leaned in to her friends with a hiss. "Those are personal paintings I am not sharing with anyone."
Giving a curt nod, she gathered her bag and jacket. Spinnng arournd, Adela muttered a quick "I have to go," over her shoulder, and retreated to the door of the classroom, exiting furiously.
Jacob rested a hand on Lauren's shoulder to refrain her from following after their friend.
"Should we do anything?" she asked him.
Jacob took off his glasses, and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Hmm..." he pondered.
Lauren looked at him curiously.
"I have an idea, but I do not believe she would like it very much."
"Oh?" his companion motioned for him to share his idea, scooting closer, and the two began to plot.
