Flopping on his bed in the apartment he lived in by himself, sixteen-year-old Naruto felt exhausted from yet another draining ninja mission. It was just another afternoon in his village of Konoha for him. The life of the shinobi was no easy one, and he needed to relax. Before collapsing into a world-famous nap, Naruto reached under his pillow absentmindedly and felt something rather strange.
'Huh?' thought Naruto. 'What's this?'
Naruto stuck his tongue out as he drew the object out from under his pillow. It was a classic gaming cartridge labeled: TAIJUTSU TOURNAMENT. On the front cover were two men wearing martial arts uniforms, one black marked with a cobra on his back and the other white with a bonsai tree, and the two were attacking each other on a mat marked with a gold fist.
"Taijutsu tournament..." mumbled Naruto under his breath, reading the game's cover. He flipped the cartridge over and read the backside:
The evil Cobra Kai have been bullying the Valley and her people for years! It's up to you, the Hero of the Bonsai, armed with your knowledge of Taijutsu's most specialized art form: Karate, to defeat them in the annual Taijutsu tournament. Can you win, or will the Valley fall to the Cobras fangs?
He grunted. "Oh, I'm gonna win! Believe it!" Not even caring who put it there under his pillow or what the game was like, Naruto still played it. He shoved the cartridge into his gaming console in his bedroom's television set and didn't even notice that it was far too old to play, but the game still ran anyway somehow...
It started out rather simply, Naruto plopped on his bed holding his black controller and bit his tongue in concentration, trying to beat the game the very best he could. The graphics were very old, and his character was a blonde boy like him wearing a white martial arts uniform with a bonsai on his back, fighting different competitors with an assortment of kicks, chops, blocks, and punches.
The first few were easy, Naruto would simply jump forward and spam attacks until he'd scored three direct strikes on his opponent and the pixelated referee raised his hand on the screen and a word bubble appeared above his character saying 'Winner!'
"Yess..." hissed Naruto as his character moved onto the semi-finals.
The fighter Naruto faced in the semi-final was named 'Hawk' and he had a bright blue mohawk pixelated on screen in the usual 8-bit fashion. He was the first Cobra Kai Naruto had battled in the video game, notable by his black uniform and Cobra insignia on his back.
He turned out to be a lot tougher than the earlier video game fighters, being sharper and agiler, actually landing the first strike on Naruto's character he'd ever experienced playing the game.
"Ah! What?" groaned Naruto. He hit his buttons on his controller even faster, and he was only struck again. Naruto gritted his teeth, muttering. "If he lands another hit on me the game's over and I lose! Shit!"
Suddenly a special icon on the screen appeared.
[Press A to activate special ability |Focus|]
The yellow-haired shinobi instantly hit the A button on his controller and his character closed his eyes and a bamboo flute played on screen for a moment.
When his blue mohawked opponent struck again, his character managed to deflect his attacks more efficiently and the video game's referee eventually raised his hand with a word bubble appearing above his head.
[Point Keene!]
"Yeah!" Naruto laughed. "Let's go!"
A small cutscene played after this and the aggressive bully Hawk walked up to Naruto's character on screen after getting back up from being knocked down.
[HAWK: That was a lucky hit. It's gonna be your last.]
[OPTION: A) Turn the other cheek. B) Insult]
Not even the tiniest bit of hesitation was used when Naruto pressed the B button and his character approached his mohawked opponent on the mat.
[ROBBY: Why? You leavin' early to fix that stupid haircut?]
The cutscene continued, with Hawk pushing the referee out of the way and striking Naruto's character in the shoulder. Naruto's white uniformed avatar collapsed on the mat of the tournament while the cutscene continued.
[REFEREE: That's illegal contact you're disqualified!]
[HAWK: Bullshit!]
"Shit! I bet that weakened me for the final!" cursed Naruto, gripping his controller harder.
In the final, the Cobra Naruto faced was named Miguel and he was a lean Ecuadorian boy using a lot of anger to strike Naruto's character. Naruto's character Robby, moved a lot slower on the mat because of his injured shoulder and eventually was struck twice by the boy wearing a black uniform with a Cobra insignia on his back.
Naruto breathed in tightly. "If I get hit again that's it!"
Miguel ended up cheating, grabbing Naruto's character on screen by the leg and pounding his weakened shoulder again and again before knocking him down. The referee raised Miguel's hand on screen and another word bubble appeared.
[REFEREE: Winner!]
"Winner? What? That's bullshit!" Naruto hurled his controller at the screen.
[You have lost the tournament! The Valley has slipped into the clutches of the Cobra Kai...GAME OVER]
Naruto cursed. "Those Cobra bastards all cheated! I bet if I was actually there as the Hero of the Bonsai I would've done a better job!"
The game actually appeared to have heard this, allowing Naruto to type back into the game.
[Would you really have?]
Naruto picked up his black controller again and wrote back into the game.
[Hell yeah! Believe it!]
[Well, let's see about that...]
Without warning, the old video game played on Naruto's bedroom television set began to glow brightly.
"Uh...the fuck's happening?" Naruto started to shift uncomfortably on his bed.
The television sucked Naruto through its screen and Naruto became transported out of Konoha.

Naruto's blue eyes opened slowly before realizing he was laying on someone's bed that wasn't his. He looked at his hands, that looked...different somehow. He stood up in his bed and looked around it before feeling a buzz in his pocket.
"What the hell..." mumbled Naruto under his breath as he withdrew an iPhone from his pajama pocket.
The phone's screen glowed bright blue and words began to appear on it.
[Congratulations! You have entered |The Game| as of |4/23/17|, and received the power of |The Gamer|! All information pertaining to this game will be recorded and displayed on this iPhone for the remainder of your experiences in this universe! Most teenagers your age in this universe are usually seen staring at their phones so this will be a better way of not drawing attention to yourself with floating blue panels. The device you are currently reading this on is an iPhone developed by...]
Naruto just blanked staring at the phone screen. "The fuck is happening..." muttered Naruto in disbelief.

He stood up out of his bed as the phone rambled on and on about how different this world was to his own, and yawned as he walked over to the bathroom in his bedroom. When he looked at himself in the mirror he gasped. His whiskers were gone, his yellow hair had gotten slightly darker and much straighter instead of poofier and he just was...completely different.
Naruto touched his own face in awe and was a little frightened at how he was inside someone else's body.
Running back to his bed, Naruto picked up his iPhone and kept reading.

That name stuck out to Naruto...wait, he was inside the video game he was playing in his bedroom!? And the video game had an entire world of its own? Naruto pressed his thumb to this section of text on his phone screen and more information was revealed.
[If you are defeated in the Tournament, you will be stuck in this universe forever!]
His phone slipped out of his hands and he sunk slowly into the floor of his bathroom. Iruka-sensei, Sakura-chan, everyone from Konoha. He'd never see any of them ever again if he failed here. And he'd be stuck inside the body of another teenage boy for the rest of his life if he lost.
Naruto stood up with a clenched fist. "Fuck that. I'll learn this Karate Taijutsu thing, and win!"
At that moment, his iPhone lit up with a notification.

Author's Note.
You do not, I repeat, do not need to know anything about Cobra Kai and the Karate Kid to understand what will be going on. Luckily, as Naruto is introduced to how this universe works in a slow and understandable manner, I'll try to explain to you guys how it works too, along with the characters.
I might change the rating to M later on but we'll see, also Naruto's Harem will probably expand beyond the three Valley girls I have listed, who I'll introduce next chapter probably.
Next story of mine to be updated will probably be A Boy of Swings or Hogwarts is Fun.
