Chapter 1 - Kaylee (TEASER)
My name is Kaylee Frye and I am a Slayer. The Chosen One. The last one of my kind. You see, the line is dead. I am the only one left and I am left to fight alone. For decades, centuries even, thousands of girls defended the earth against the forces of darkness, the demons and the vampires. Watched over by their council, living together as one, uniting in power and light and darkness, these girls would defend a world so heartbreakingly terrible and so, so wonderful that you can't imagine. But the demons perished and one by one, so did my predecessors. For years the people of this world believed that that world, that magic was dead. Over. With nothing left to fight, hell-dimensions torched to the ground or frozen over, demons, monsters, hell-ish Gods picked off one by one, there was no need for more to be born. And the spell was broken. Yet somehow, the essence lived on. a trace of potential diluted and passed on from mother to daughter. A tiny fleck in the hearts of those with the potential to be great. But never ignited. Until now. Because the evil of the earth is back. And it's bigger than ever. Stretching across galaxies. And someone is going to need to fight it. The Slayer line has been reborn, starting with me, the ancestor of 'Her', the one why made this possible. I am the chosen one born into this generation and with the lives of the innocent depending on me, things so vast and complex and life threateningly dangerous, that I can't possible fight alone. I am the Slayer and this is Serenity. They are my crew.
