A Rhyming Response
To: "There Will Come Soft Rains"
There is something about this poem and its mood,
And the sense of impending doom when reviewed:
And it seems that humans got into all out war,
And not one other being cared to implore;
The frogs, plum trees and robins go about their days,
As if there was absolutely nothing to effect their craze;
And while everything seems perfectly fine,
The entire human race has been in decline.
This poem makes it seem like the rest of the world hates us,
Because of our wars and fuss;
And even a whole hopeful season of Spring,
Hadn't noticed the missing zing.
