Meeting of Bones
Special Agent Kacie Jacklin yawned as she drove tword the crime scene. She had just finished pulling an all nighter to finish some paper work and she now wondered why did she have to get stuck on a crappy case like this? Normally Seeley Booth worked with the Forensic Anthropologist Temperance Brennan, but with him out of town she was the next in line for the job. And with her doctorite in human osteology the big wigs up top had assigned her with out her concent. Seeing flashing lights Kacie parked her car behind the squad car, got out and made her way to the cops."What do we have here?" She asked as she walked past them to the circle of lights cast from varius flashlights. "Some kids were in the woods when they stumbled across the bones" Kacie looked over the bones untill she located the correct bones "Femur indicates male, possible middle to late thirties. This dirt could mean that the body was buired in a shallow grave and due to the recent rain washed aside the dirt enough for the kids to find them. Did the skull get uncovered?" Kacie said looking up at the cops from her crouch, only to see another woman walking up to her. She had sholder leangth brow hair and was pulling on rubber gloves as she came tword the skeltal remains. "You seem to know quiet a bit Miss?"
Kacie stood brushing her hands off, then held out her hand to the woman "Kacie Jacklin. And you must be Dr. Brennan." Dr. Brennen took Kacie's hand and shook it "That is correct and why are you here may I ask? Where is Booth?" Brennen said looking around for him.
"Actually Agent Booth is out of town and I have been assigned to this case in his place." Kacie said, seeing Dr. Brennan's face fall slightly before a cool facade locked into place. Kacie started to say something just as Dr. Brennen pushed past her to examine the bones. "Typical Forensic Anthropologist, always thinking everyone else is stupid compaired to them." Kacie muttered as she stood watching Brennen look over the bones. "Well Agent Jacklin, it appears you know a thing or two about anthropology."
Kacie shrugged " I have a doctorite in Osteology" Dr. Brennen nodded as she poked around in the dirt. "Ah here's a piece of the skull." She exclamed, holding up a piece of bone. A cop came over to Kacie and handed her a bag, that she in turn held out to Dr. Brennen for her to put the skull chunks in. After gathering all the pieces of skull and scooping the dirt into a bag to be shipped to the Jeffersonian, Dr. Brennen stood and pulled off her gloves. "Well I'll take these back to the Jeffersonian and reconstruct the skull there." She said as she made her way back to her car.
"Um Dr. Brennen." Kacie said approching her before she could escape. After Dr. Brennen turned to her Kacie contuined before she could wimp out. "Actually it has been a while senice I could put my Osteology to good use. I was wondering if maybe I could come with you and reconstruct the skull. Only with your permission of course."
Dr. Brennen gave Kacie a long look and finally said "I would rather reconstruct the skull myself." Kacie, expecting this ansher, pressed forword "Yes Dr. Brennen I understand that but perhaps we could work togeather on it. I understand why you hesitate but I promise I was the top of my class and before I worked with the FBI, I was a doctor with the army. Please just give me a trial run Dr. Brennen."
Dr. Brennen groaned inside, as she looked at Kacie's eager face "Very well" She said sighing "You will have 24 hours to compleatly reconstruct the skull and see if you determine cause of death" Kacie looked excited as she said "Thank you very much Dr. Brennen you will not regret this, I promise you." Kacie, tried not to jump with joy as she made her way to her car as the same thought kept repeating its self in her head "I get to work with Temperance Brennan, THE Temperance Brennan. Best. Case. EVER"
