"I got the better end of the deal. I only lent you my body - you lent me your dream." From Gattica
For Paula, because she is amazing, and the reason I'm trying Hermione/Cedric (a weird pairing).
Even in death, you think she's beautiful. She's running around, trying to find a…Horcrux, was it called? She's there, and you can see the excitement in her eyes.
You wished she had that excitement when she looked into your eyes.
But it could never be. It never was. Even when you were living, she never even cast you a glance. She never ever looked at you. She was too busy with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley to ever even notice you anyway.
But now, you're dead, killed by Voldemort (even the dead fear him) and there's nothing you can do about anything anymore.
So you haunt her.
It's a strange sort of way that you haunted her, you just watched her from high above. You didn't come down like a ghost and whisper, "Seven days."
And how could you?
She's in control of her body, she's in control of her life, and you? You're not in control of anything. You can't do anything, you can only float there.
And then you see her run up and kiss Ron Weasley, and you feel anger surging through your body, and you want to run down there and slap him, but you know you can't, so you just float there.
Watching her.
