Oliver unlocked the door to the apartment he shared with Thea. However, he didn't open it just yet. He needed a few moments to himself. He pressed his forehead to the door, thoroughly exhausted from today's events.
The entire time he had felt responsible for Roy's death, only to discover that Roy never actually died. His team orchestrated his fake death, and kept Oliver out of the loop. And even though this meant Ra's al Ghul lost this round, Oliver couldn't help but still feel guilty. Roy had a life here in Starling City. A life he gave up simply so he could protect him. Oliver didn't deserve that. He didn't deserve that kind of sacrifice from his friends.
But no one can change the past. Oliver sighed, finally opening the door. Roy made his decision, and they all need to stick with it. He intended to take full advantage of the opportunity Roy gave him. However, he had to tell Thea that Roy wasn't dead first. She was going to be relieved, and probably pissed.
"Thea?" Oliver called, walking in. He was about to lock the door when he noticed shards of glass on the floor near his feet. He looked up to see the origin of the mess, and dropped his keys.
"Thea!" Oliver ran to his sister, who was lying in the remnants of their coffee table. Blood was everywhere and her eyelids were flickering, barely able to stay open. He knelt to her side and pulled off his jacket, his eyes scanning where the injury was. His heart dropped seeing blood pouring out from a gashing wound in her stomach. This couldn't be happening.
Oliver used his jacket to press on her wound, attempting to slow down the bleeding. He quickly grabbed his cell phone from his pocket and dialed 911. "Thea, stay with me," he breathed, shoving hard on the wound. Fear shot through his heart, and he forced himself not to panic. He needed to remain calm. His sister needed him.
"911, what's your emergency?" a professional female voice answered.
"My sister has been stabbed. She's bleeding out," Oliver rushed, pressing harder on the wound. He rattled off the address for their apartment and promptly dropped the phone. "Thea, please say something."
She opened her mouth, only to cough up blood. As he pushed her to her side so she wouldn't choke, his despair grew. His sister was dying. His sister was dying right before his eyes. Oliver pulled her to his chest, ignoring the blood staining his clothes. This was his sister. His baby sister.
Oliver pulled her tighter to his chest. Terror had seized his heart, but rage began to rise from his gut. This was Ra's doing. He wanted to punish Oliver for not joining him. But he crossed a line, and Oliver will make him pay.
He buried his nose in her hair. He will pay.
