Ariel twirled the sea flower through her fingers humming to herself in her grotto. She was bored, and strangely no one was around, not even a guppy. There was nothing to do.
Suddenly, Ariel heard someone swim by behind her. She sat up quickly, releasing the flower. "Hello..?" she said hesitantly. "Is anyone there?"
Almost instantly, a mermaid tumbled into the grotto, bumping into Ariel. "Oof!" the pair grunted simultaneously.
Ariel couldn't help but laugh as she started to straighten herself up. "Maybe you should try to be a little more car-" she giggled, then stopped suddenly when she saw who the mermaid was.
"Tin.. Tinkerbell?" she asked, confused. There was the blonde fairy, smiling at her as she swam around the grotto. "Hiya, Ariel!"
"But you're.." Ariel started, then noticed that Tinkerbell still had her wings, as well as a bright green tail, like her usual dress. "How can you have both fins and wings? I thought your wings couldn't get wet?"
Tinkerbell stopped swimming and frowned at Ariel. "Whattya mean?" she asked, then pointed behind Ariel. "You do, too! Everyone does.."
Ariel turned her head and gasped as she found herself looking at sparkling fairy wings. She turned her head and opened her mouth to ask Tink what was going on.
Suddenly, Ariel opened her eyes, darkness enveloped all around her. She was confused for a moment, but then it dawned on her. It was only a dream.
