Incorrigible

When Sephiroth is suddenly thrust with the responsibility of taking care of a child with too-old sky blue eyes, blond chocobo hair with a penchant for violence (wielding knives and trying to sneak into the science department to kill Hojo), he doesn't know what the hell he's supposed to do. It's not like there's a manual for this!

just a little Drabble I wrote up at 3 am in the morn. Unbeta'd and probably not my best work but oh well. Hope you guys enjoy and I may or may not end up expanding this verse.

Summary:

When Sephiroth is suddenly thrust with the responsibility of taking care of a child with too-old sky blue eyes, blond chocobo hair with a penchant for violence (wielding knives and trying to sneak into the science department to kill Hojo), he doesn't know what the hell he's supposed to do. It's not like there's a manual for this!

He stared at the blue-eyed blond child as the child stared back with too-old eyes. The glare - and there really was nothing else he would call it - intensified, not helped by the large machete gripped tightly in one chubby fist.

For a second, Sephiroth almost felt threatened. That second passed before the man breathed out loudly, eyes closed and hands pressed against the bridge of his nose in a show of annoyance.

"Cloud," he started, then paused a bit because he didn't know how to go about telling this child that trying to kill Hojo with a machete was not the right thing to do, if even he himself had felt the same urge on several (all) occasions. Green eyes fell upon the unrepentant child once more before he could visibly calm down.

"Cloud, trying to kill Professor Hojo at that moment was wrong. If you want to kill him, you have to do it so no one suspects you."

There, maybe now Cloud wouldn't go around wielding a large machete while loud screaming at the scientist he was going to behead. And if the child succeeded, well, Sephiroth would buy him those swords he really wanted. And maybe a bike or two.

The following weeks ahead was fraught with paranoia for one Professor as he kept on discovering poison within his food even when he personally prepared them himself.

(He tried to accuse the child, he really did but no one would believe such an innocent-looking kid would even be able to get access to such poisons much less hide them in his food without being discovered.)

(Sephiroth and a smug Cloud sat back and enjoyed the whole scene.)
