Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring not even a Dalek.

The screwdrivers were put by the chimney with care; in hope that that the Doctor soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds while visions of Tardis' danced in their heads.

And Martha in her kerchief and Brigadier in his cap had just settled down for a long winter nap. When out on the lawn there was such a clatter Brigadier sprang from his bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window he flew like a flash tore open the shutters and the sash. The moon on the breast of the new fallen "snow" gave a luster of midday to the objects below.

When what to his terrified eyes should appear but a miniature Tardis with eight space enemies; with a tall young driver, so evil and sly, he knew in a moment it must be the Master.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came and whistled and shouted, and called them by name:

"Now Daleks! Now Sigaracts! Now Sortoran and Kilitan! On Sea Devils! On Robots! On werewolves and gas masked zombies! To the top of the world! To the top of the universe! Now fly away! Fly away! Fly away all!

As dry leaves after the Tardis flies away fly, when they meet with an obstacle, ZAP they blow away. So up to the housetop the coursers they flew, with the Tardis full of weapons, and the Master, too.

And then in a twinkling, I heard on the roof, the laughing and knowing of each big claw.

As he drew in his head, and was turning around down the window the Master came with a crash. He was dressed in a suit, from an expensive store, and his clothes were all tarnished with war and blood. A bundle of guns He had in his pockets, and looked like a prime minister just starting the day.

His eyes how they glared! His smiled pulled down! His cheeks were like fire, his nose pointed up. His large mouth was drawn down like a grimace and the hair on his head a perfect shave.

The stump of his pipe he held hard in his teeth, and the smoke it encircled his head like regeneration energy. He had an evil face and a little thin belly and barely shook when he laughed (which was barely ever)

He was thin and tall a right evil old time-lord and he screamed when he saw him in spite of himself. A twitch of his eye and a jerk of his head soon gave him to know what he had to dread.

He spoke not a word but went straight to his work, and filled all the houses with bombs and devices. Then turned in an instant and clicking his fingers the Tardis appeared

He ran in the door and gave his clan a whistle and away they flew like the petal of a flower.

But Brigadier heard him exclaim as he flew out of sight, "Good luck trying to stop me, for the world ends tonight!"
