Lelouch couldn't believe or handle this situation Shirley his good friend and perhaps his love now lies dead in his arms.
"No it wasn't supposed to be like this! I was supposed to return to Ashford with everyone after this was over! Shirley wasn't supposed die!! WHY DID THIS HAPPEN!!" Lelouch screamed in tears.
"Hahahahahahaha! Did you really think this wouldn't happen to you that you were immune to loss? Did you think your scheming, back stabbing and strategies would keep you from losing anyone? You really are naive boy." A familiar voice spoke.
"That voice! Is that low life mercenary Diaz Cruz!" Lelouch looked around but couldn't find him.
"Heh where are you looking you dumb shit punk." Diaz quickly appeared behind him.
"You! How dare mock what happened here!" Lelouch looked to his back and snapped at him angry.
"Cause its funny you're funny to think you wouldn't lose anything. Its real funny!" Diaz kept laughing.
"You bastard!!" Lelouch punched Diaz in a fit of rage but with his weak physical strength Diaz didn't feel it. "What the hell do you know you never lost anyone!!"
Diaz mood changed he got real pissed and when that happens people die. He grabbed Lelouch by the throat. Lelouch couldn't anything cause his geass did not work on Diaz cause of his extremely chaotic and strong mind. Mao found that out the hard way when he faced Diaz.
"Listen you little shit!! You think I haven't lost anyone well guess what cock sucker I have!! During my FARC days I lost countless comrades and friends for a stupid ideal that in end turned out to be a lie. Guys I cared for more than my own life I loved them as much as love my family at Lagoon company but all my skill didn't stop them from dying I tried everything I could but they were still taken away from me. Its amazing Kallen follows a fool like you and I find it incomprehensible that Marianne gave birth to such a pathetic offspring like you!" Diaz tightened the grip on Lelouch's neck. "So don't ever say I never lost anyone cause I have! I maybe a crazed battle happy psychopath but at least I value those close to me to not do shit like that."
Lelouch looked into his eyes and saw the sincerity in them. H really shouldn't have said that.
"I'm sorry I didn't know." Lelouch apologized
"That's a start kid." Diaz let go of Lelouch. Now you know the price for ideals and causes killing and getting killed is easy but losing what you love that's the tricky part. No one is immune to loss not one like you and not one like me."
"Tell me Diaz will it get better all of this?" Lelouch asked this question
"No kid its not going to get better its going to get worse. You will lose a lot more than than that girl I can assure you of that. That is the price of all this all you can do endure all the pain and loss and endure you shall." Diaz began to walk away. "Your idea of returning to ashford with your friends was naive because the cause you fight for won't allow it."
"So I will lose more eh but its far too late for me too turn back. I have to move forward and endure." Lelouch stayed for a while with Shirley before Rolo came in Diaz was already gone.
