Chapter 1

My second story! Hope it's all right if it has nothing to do with CCS...
"Syaoran! Look here! You didn't give Stallia enough hay!" Syaoran sighed, and walked back to the stables to give the lord's special unicorn more hay.
Orphaned at four, Syaoran was now seventeen, and caretaker of the lord's special unicorn Stallia. Stallia was his only friend, but she was a good one. He told her all his secrets, and in return, she showed him little acts of friendship, such as nuzzling him or licking his face.
Syaoran was sorry for the unicorn. The lord often went hunting on Stallia, and his humongous bulk pained her back greatly. In addition, the lord was a cruel and greedy man, and often caused great wounds on the beautiful unicorn's snow white back.
Syaoran often thought of escape. However, there was no where for him to go. He had no family to escape to, nor any guaranteed place of safety. The lord was mighty, and would surely seek him out if he escaped.
His days were always standard. Upon waking up, he would eat his breakfast, then chores until lunch, then chores until supper. Before sinking into his usual dreamless sleep, he would spend a few minutes reading a treasured book that had once belonged to his mother.
It was always the same. That is, until this particular night…
