A/N: Hey, it's me... TheFlyingNinja, I hope you enjoy this short thing.
My name is Sarah, and this is my first time at a public dance. The lights were dimmed and the music played soft and sweet like a butterfly. The people danced as carefree as dolphins playing in the surf. The refreshments set out, but I sit, all alone.
I'm nothing special, but being left out is a major mood-killer. I had just grabbed my purse to leave when I felt a hand on my arm.
"May I please have just one dance" his voice was clear and enchanting. I turn back around and found a gorgeous man about seventeen, my age, standing there. He had brown curly hair and multi-hued eyes. He was well built but not overly so.
I found myself nodding as he led me out onto the floor. The world blurred around us and I could only see him. He was looking right back into my eyes, and I saw the world reflected in them. His eyes represented love, happiness, spring and little children. They represented butterflies, a cozy fire, warmth, and a clear night sky. I could get lost in those eyes forever.
All too soon, the song was over and my eyes asked him for another. He happily complied and we continued spinning on the floor, slow and to the beat. I leaned into him and put my head on his shoulder and he leaned his head down on mine. We continued that way for a while, even after the music stopped.
I looked up into those too enchanting eyes and I felt insignificant. Like he was somehow more than just the normal human (if only you knew Sarah). He cupped my chin in his hand and leaned down for a quick kiss. It was too short and my body begged for more so as he pulled away, I pulled him back in. We continued dancing for a while longer, until a freak storm blew through. There was no rain, but plenty of thunder and lightning.
He turned to me with real pain in his eyes. "I'm so sorry Sarah, but I will have to depart."
"Can you call me?" He merely shook his head. He withdrew his hand from mine and walked away. I turned my hand over wishing to find a phone number there. Instead I found a necklace, with a medallion on it. On the medallion was the picture of a winged shoe. Only then did I realize I never got his name.
A/N: I know this is short and if you didn't get it, duh… the dude was Hermes. Poor Sarah having to not know who this was. This was a oneshot, don't expect any more (thunder cortisey of Zeus lightning services ;D)
