Mark had long ago realized that in life, there are always signs. When you see storm clouds in the sky, it's a sign that you need to bring in the sheets youleft drying on the fire escape. When no matter what you do, the editing on your film isn't coming together, it's a sign you need to step back for awhile and do something else. And when your girlfriend starts mysteriously disappearing for hours at a time and coming home at one in the morning smelling like cheap liquor and strange perfume, it's a sign that she's probably cheating on you with a woman. Bitch.
But the easiest sign for Mark, was the one that told him and his roommate that a trip to the grocery store was in order.
"What are you eating?"
"Cottage cheese."
"But that's a milk container."
"Yeah."
"Cottage cheese doesn't come in a milk container."
Somehow, they always knew.
