...what does anything matter?...one thing...no idea why...why do I try? it doesn't matter how hard I tried...what I said or did...the past is the past, and nothing I can do can change it...no matter how hard I wish and pray...that wont bring maria back...
shadow thought, standing, staring at the earth below from the ARK, a troubled look on his face. He thought of the times he had with maria, flashbacks entering his mind. His dismissed them, and continued thinking. He stood there...silent...thinking of it all. He looked down at his left hand, his gun gripped in it. He sat, staring at it and considered something.
I can end it all...so fast...no one would know...no one would care...i can end it, painlessly...G.U.N can always replace me... Dr. eggman would be pleased at my death...
He took the gun, placed it at his temple, and held his finger at the trigger, wanting to pull it so badly, to leave the burdens of this world, but he hesitated... he shut his eyes, his head drooped as he, for the first time, cried.
I didn't save that world to save it! I did it for maria... none of that matters now... soon I will join her...because no matter how hard I try... in the end...it doesn't even matter...

The world took maria from me...she was innocent...
I couldn't protect her...why did she have to put me in the capsule?...why couldn't things have been different?!
He just sat there, ready to end it all...go out with a bang...ready to die, and not care, for he would soon join her...no one would know, sonic would be racing around, or defeating Dr. eggman for the millionth time, the chaotix, would be looking for work. knuckles would be guarding the master emerald, and tails would be by sonic's side. Amy would be chasing sonic, lovestruck as usual...
shadow actually cared a bit for her...kinda liked her...after all, she did convince him to stop the ark from blowing the earth to bits. He just never did find a way to show, or to tell her...but in his heart he- no...she loves sonic...her heart is his...yet he doesn't love her back! that cocky ignorant hedgehog cant even notice how much she loves him!
He held it there...thinking...considering...whether or not to just end it already.. not a single person cared...no one did...suddenly, he felt someone hugging him, and felt the gun tugged from his hand, and thrown across the room. He opened his eyes, to see none other then Amy rose, in tears.
"...a-Amy?" he said, utterly surprised, looking up at her.
"yes shadow, its me...i just came to visit...and..." she said, still hugging him tightly
"I heard you, talking to yourself, about how no one cared...well I care, shadow, I care..." she responded. He looked up at her still, and then he kissed her. They kissed for a moment, and they sat there, she hugged him tightly still...
