"When the rich wage war, it's the poor who die." - Jean-Paul Sartre

A long century before this war began there was a discussion amongst those at the top, kings and lords of land, as to laws that must be set into place to govern a mans right to kill using living beings as tools. It was decided by the powers that be that ten rules would be laid into place so that any future conflict would be fought fairly. Every soldier in the world is forced to memorise these rules, later named the Eterna Convention. I learned every word when I signed up to join the Paratroopers, bug division. If I think carefully, I can still remember them.

1. Use of deadly force is only applicable in life threatening situations.

2. You are only to use the type to which you are assigned.

3. There is a 6 weapon maximum. Any others obtained in the field are to be sent to the nearest storage facility until further notice.

4. Use of Weapons of Mass Destruction, as decided by members of the Council, are strictly off limits for use by all nations.

5. Prisoners of war are to be treated fairly under the guidelines of the Convention. This includes a prohibition of cruel and unusual punishment or torture.

6. Civilians are not to be attacked unless provoked by them.

7. Use of Mega-Evolution is not permitted under any circumstances.

8. Use of the newly discovered Fairy Type is off limits until further notice that they are safe to be used.

9. Use of Spore attacks to incapacitate foes is not permitted under any circumstances.

10. Immoral treatment of weaponry is punishable by death.

Naturally, I found myself breaking each and every rule laid out by the Eterna Convention by the end of the World War.

A century after the laws had been set in place, the king of Unova was killed by a civilian that came from a little town in Hoenn. This led Unova to declare an all out war on the nation of Hoenn, which through treaties led to the Union of Silver, consisting of Unova, Kanto and Sinnoh, and the Union of Gold, consisting of Hoenn, Johto and Kalos, to pit a war that would rage through many decades and come close to destroying the world as a whole.
