Gosen moved silently and unheard out of bed and felt the cold wooden floor underneath my feet. He flipped on the light switch, illuminating his small room. Still as quiet, he slipped on his brown boots and walked to his drawer and pulled out a pair of gloves before putting them on as well. Finally, he strolled to the back wall, where he took hold of his Power Pole. He smiled, the Power Pole being one of the two reminders he actually had of his ancestor Goku. His parents say he's a lot like him, with his unruly hair and crazy grin.
Shaking his head to clear his mind, he tied the Power Pole to his back and slowly made his way out of the room. He turned the lights out and closed the door softly. He left for his parents room, knowing well that they were asleep, seeing as how it was around four in the morning. He entered their room and placed the letter he'd been conjuring for days on the table beside their bed. Then, he left.
He found Bass, his Namekian best friend, waiting outside the house for him. He wore his weighted clothing, a giant white cape and matching turban that covered his green antennas but left his spiky ears untouched. He had his usual serious look, a trait Gosen's father joked he had inherited from his ancestor, Piccolo.
"You sure you want to do this?" Bass asked. "You could've at least gave your parents a better explanation besides that letter."
Gosen nodded. "I could, but they probably stop me until my training is done, and I don't want to waste anymore time. I'm going to see world and no one's stopping me."
Bass sighed, knowing Gosen was stubborn-minded. "Then I guess I'll be coming with you."
Gosen's eyes widened in surprise. "You sure?"
Bass nodded. "Of course. It's my job to protect baby Gosen from getting hurt. So where are we off too?"
This caused Gosen to laugh, and he put his arm around Bass's shoulder. "If we're gonna go on an adventure, we gotta do it right. So, therefore, we are going to find the Dragon Balls!"
"Okay, I like it," Bass said, a slight smile forming on his face. However, it disappeared when he realized something. "Aren't you gonna use your magic cloud Nimbus?"
Gosen shook his head. "No, I'll be fine. Besides, we can fly remember."
"Lead the way then, Gosen."
Gosen bent his knees and took of flying into the morning sky like a bullet. Bass quickly flew after him, and, together, they set off on their great adventure."
