"Florelux!" the Doctor exclaimed. "Oh Amy, you'll love it! It's so forest-y and beautiful!" I kept my mouth shut. I didn't feel like explaining to him that after the adventure with the Weeping Angels, I wasn't so fond of forests anymore. "They have these brilliant statues," the Doctor continued, "huge, huge statues and no one knows their purpose."
"Kind of like the Easter Island statues?"
"Exactly! And there's this beautiful flower, my favorite flower in the whole universe. I must show you."
"You have a favorite flower?" I snickered. The Doctor was bouncing around in the TARDIS with excitement. For a 907 year old alien you'd think he would be more composed and mature. Nope. It was like this every time we went somewhere new. Every time it gave me a headache, but it also made me smile.
"Ahh, we've landed! Come along Pond!" the Doctor said as he opened the door of the blue box. He froze. "Ooff," I said as I bumped into him. "Doctor? Can we get going?"
"Ok Amy whatever you do, stay close to me and be careful where you step." The urgency in his voice made my heart quicken. Something was wrong. Cautiously, I followed the Doctor out of the TARDIS. Now I saw what he had seen. Dead bodies were everywhere, trees had been knocked down…Florelux was a mess.
"Doctor? Doctor, what's going on?"
"Shhh Amy." He replied using his Sonic to check the vital signs of the bodies. I hated when he did this to me. He never gave me any information. Well, he did eventually but it took forever and was never in full.
"Something's been here. Don't know what, but it was definitely something big….."
Suddenly, something grabbed my leg. "Doctor! Something's got me!" I said, trying to shake the thing off.
"What are you doing Amy?" the Doctor yelled, "Look at what's grabbed you before you start kicking at it!"
"What is it? It's all bloody and mangled."
"It is a native," the Doctor replied.
"Ssssky," the native said, pointing his hand upwards, "They….come. Boom." His hand dropped down and he closed his eyes.
"Come on." The Doctor said after a moment, "we have to find out what's going on. The natives of Florelux are peaceful. For as long as they have lived they have never had to fight. And they shouldn't have had to this time."
